If the remainder of the spring and summer is going to be anything like what we experienced this past weekend, college coaches get ready to find a lot of hidden gems. We had Top Performers throughout the weekend, and here is a look at a few…

Ty is one of the 2022 players that brought his talent to the #PHPassionRegionKickOff, looking for eyes to see him as he continues trying to find his way to a collegiate program next year. He made a very good case as he put his talents on full display. He is an all-level scorer and finds a good balance between scoring and facilitating. He is a reliable floor general, and his experience was evident throughout the weekend.
He has a mature game that focuses on the team as he was one of the best table setters that I saw the entire weekend.
He created for himself and his teammates, and Ocala’s offense was in a good rhythm when the ball was in Ty’s hands. When it comes to the next level, it boils down to if we can get eyes on his game over the next couple of months.

TJ is a shooting guard who had to spend a lot of time in the post just by his squad’s style of play. Some mismatches were created on the defensive end that TJ found himself on the opposite end of but on the offensive end, he created mismatches that were in his favor. He was too strong for smaller guards trying to guard him, and he was too agile and quick for bigger post players trying to defend him. He forced defenses to try and overload their coverage to try and slow him down but rarely did it work because he is such a gifted scorer with a lot of tools in his toolbox.
He has a quick first step and showed very good footwork when he got two feet in the paint off his drive.
He can score from just about anywhere on the court. He has good positional size and has translatable skills to the next level. As it is with many 17U players that I saw at #PHPassionRegionKickoff, it is all about getting the right eyes on them and finding the right fit for their game. TJ can definitely play at the next level.

Jacoby is an athletic guard that likes to knife his way through the defense. He is tough off the bounce, and defenders quickly found out just how difficult it is to contain him off the bounce. He scores in a variety of ways in the half-court and in transition.
When his team needed buckets, he found ways to score.
He has the talent on any given night to be simply unstoppable offensively, especially when he has the mid-range pull-up J working. He commands a lot of respect from defenses, and he is definitely a player for coaches to at least take a look at if they are looking for an athletic combo guard that is a nightmare off the bounce.

For a minute, I thought Ty had worked at a daycare because he was rocking defenders to sleep off the bounce. His set-up moves were impressive to watch because he left defenders guessing what was coming. He had it working from all levels, and he was simply a dangerous offensive threat when his pull-up three was going in.
Hands down, he is the number one option for his squad, and he handled the responsibility with ease.
He is patient with the ball in his hands and rarely allowed the defense to speed him up. Ty was one of the 17U’s genuinely breathtaking talents the entire weekend. He showed a knack for scoring the rock, changing speeds by accelerating in a blink of the eye, and visionary passing that allowed him to pressure defenses the entire weekend. He has the talent to play at the next level, and it is just going to take the right eyes getting on him.

Nathan was one of the truest PGs amongst the top performers. He is a reliable and trustworthy facilitator and ball-handler. He is a pass-first PG that was looking to get his teammates involved and get them the ball where they could be successful. He competed with tremendous effort the entire weekend on both ends of the court. Not only was he making plays for others, but he was making winning plays.
He brings a lot to the game as he has a high IQ, and he is a high-end decision-maker in tight quarters and in the open court.
He is a PG that knows how to keep the weapons on his squad satisfied. If a college program is looking for a PG that defines the position, Nathan is the one.
