It was the first live period as well, so coaches had front row seats to get a feel for prospects on their radars. Let’s take a look at those who were able to generate offers from their performances while also taking a look at commitments that were announced.
COMMITMENTS
2022 Coolidge forward Stephaun Walker Stephaun Walker 6'7" | PF Coolidge | 2022 State MD announced his commitment to Robert Morris last night. The 6-foot-8 forward was a walking double-double throughout his high school career and will look to make an early impact for the Colonials as a freshman.
2022 Mt. Zion Prep/Team Takeover forward Elijah Jones Elijah Jones 6'8" | C Mt. Zion Prep | 2022 State MD made his pledge to East Carolina yesterday. In Jones, the Pirates get a 6-foot-8 forward with upside to become an impact on both ends of the floor. When dialed in, he was a shot disruptor and a consistent presence on the glass. He has scoring ability inside and showcased soft touch on his jumpers from outside in stints throughout this season.
East Carolina landed another DMV prospect in 2022 Flint Hill guard Saxby Sunderland Saxby Sunderland 6'2" | CG Flint Hill | 2022 State VA . Sunderland is a talented scoring guard who proved that he could do so in bunches at the high school level. He has a supreme confidence about himself and should have the chance to make an impact for the Pirates sooner rather than later.
OFFERS
2023 St. James/Team Melo point guard Solomon Ball Solomon Ball 6'3" | CG Brewster Academy | 2023 State #106 Nation NLG caught the eyes of many over the weekend as he helped lead Melo to a 4-0 record. As a result, the 6-foot-3 southpaw received offers from Clemson, Virginia Tech, Pitt, George Mason Georgia Tech and Providence. Ball’s frame, athleticism and upside as a lead guard should only attract more power five programs especially if Melo can keep racking up wins in EYBL play.
2023 Mount St. Joe/ Team Durant forward Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD received offers from Villanova and St. Bonaventure. The 6-foot-8 forward made serious noise in the BCL and MIAA this season as he led the Gaels to both conference titles. His versatility has been what the high major programs have been waiting to see and with Villanova entering the mix, it’s easy to say they’ll be a tough contender. Also watch Penn State as Hansberry took and official visit recently.
2023 St. Frances/ Team Durant guard Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD received an offer from Georgia Tech and was re-offered by the new staff at Maryland. The 6-foot-3 combo guard seems to be getting back into form that he was in last spring and summer as a playmaker off the bounce. He also had a productive weekend shooting the ball from deep as he continues to blossom into an intriguing prospect for the next level.
2023 Team Thrill guard Savon Sutton Savon Sutton 6'4" | CG Bishop Walsh | 2023 State MD received an offer from Siena. Sutton, who attends Legacy Early College (SC), has ideal size as a combo guard at 6-foot-4. His ability to score from all three levels, be effective in transition and be versatile defensively because of his size should result in more attention coming his way this summer on the UAA Circuit.
2023 St. Stephen’s St. Agnes/Team Melo point guard Mason So Mason So 6'1" | PG DeMatha | 2023 State MD received an offer from George Mason. So is a heady floor general who plays with pace and craft when it comes to distributing the ball. He’s a capable shot-maker off the catch and isn’t afraid to get in the mix defensively.
2024 Bishop O’Connell/Team Thrill wing Jadyn Harris Jadyn Harris 6'6" | PF Bishop O'Connell | 2024 State #239 Nation VA received offers from Maryland and Utah State thanks to his play in Indianapolis. The 6-foot-6 wing really came into his own this winter for O’Connell and showed his expanded skill set out to the perimeter. From the time that he entered the high school ranks, Harris was used to filling in more as a small-ball four. Now with more confidence in his game off the bounce and a jumper that continues to improve, he should evolve into a legitimate power five prospect. He continues to approach the game with a hardhat mentality as a defender and rebounder.
