Their were 13 teams in the division and here is the breakdown for the 2nd team all 16U:
Tyler Hutton Tyler Hutton 6'5" | SF Cactus | 2024 State AZ (D1 Nation 2024) (Pictured)
A long wing forward who was better than when I first viewed him. His shooting stroke from the 3pt line is pure and he uses long strides to get into the lane and finishes in traffic. He can play above the rim easily on the break and rebounds well in his area. He is transforming into a full time wing as he played the four-spot for his HS. He can still score on put backs and he can create some offense for himself but is best as a catch shooter.
Tyrese Lynch SG 5’10 2024 Valley View/CA (Cali Elite Jason 2024)
A scoring guard has some serious strength and a competitive fire in him. He is relentless getting on the glass and competing on both sides of the court. He grabs out of area rebounds, he gets downhill and will score through contact. If you give him space, he will hit shots from the 3pt line with some range. He is a sneaky good passer and plays with a motor.
Jadon Pierce SF 6’4 2024 Yucca Valley/CA (Desert Basketball Club 2024)
A versatile wing forward can play inside and out. He rebounds well in his area, he handles the ball well and can shoot it from all three levels. He was a big reason they went 4-0. He can hit the three or pull-up from mid and then drive it as he changes speeds to get to the basket. He is crafty around the rim to score around traffic.
McKel Shedrick CG 6’1 2025 Hillcrest/CA (Team Eleate 2024)
A long two-way athletic guard impressed playing a year up. He is quick laterally with long arms to defend opposing guards. He is terrific in transition and gets to the basket quickly with longer strides. The lefty is a capable 3pt shooter and he gets on the glass for put backs and can score on floaters. He can make plays for others and when he improves his 3pt consistency, he will be harder to defend.
Derek Tuason CG 5’7 2024 San Marcos/CA (Coastal Elite 2024)
A scoring combo guard may of been the best shooter in the 16U division. He squares up quickly and lets it fly in a blink of an eye. Not only did he hit 10+ 3’s but may of them came in clutch situations down the stretch of games. He is also quick with the ball in his hands and makes good reads. He moves without the ball to find open spots in the defense.
Isaiah Waters PF 6’5 2024 Vanguard College Prep/CA (No Fear Elite 2024)
A true physical power forward with incredible strength. He is a load to deal with inside the paint. He uses his girth, skill and brute strength to score the ball around or almost through the defenders. He has a drop step he can utilize and he will block shots and rebound in bunches. His free throw touch looked decent and he can make strides with his deeper shot.
Ben Wilder Ben Wilder 6'5" | SF Bradshaw Mountain | 2023 State AZ (D1 Nation 2024)
A young junior helped lead the team to 3-1 in the A division. He has really improved his skill from the 3pt line. He gets it off with a quick trigger and has decent size as he is pushing 6’5. He gives strong ball fakes and then puts his head down and will get to the basket. He sores it efficiently near the cup and can score on put backs.
