First Team:
Dezmund Jackson Dezmund Jackson 6'3" | SG Rock Island | 2024 IL — SG — Iowa Mavs
Jackson is such a versatile scorer. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard has a smooth jumper from behind the arc, can rise up and drain mid-range shots, and is crafty enough to find creative ways to score in the paint. Jackson earned his spot on the first team when he scored six clutch points down the stretch of a game against Chicago Lockdown. Jackson had multiple big-time scoring games and he led his team to a 4-0 record on the weekend.
Ty Pflughaupt — F — Iowa Prep
Pflughaupt is a skilled forward that uses his physical attributes to find success on the court. Standing at 6-foot-5 with long arms, the forward is able to finish around the rim very well. He also is a phenomenal outside shooter. In a blowout win for Iowa Prep, Pflughaupt had one of the more impressive performances of the weekend. He scored 20 points on eight made field goals, including four threes. Pflughaupt is a prospect to track going forward.
Demond Laongoen — PG — Wisconsin Premier
Laongoen was one of the best point guards at the Hard Work Region Kick Off, regardless of age. The point guard proved to be a slick driver who defenders could not stay in front of. Having a handful of high scoring games, Lanongoen was such an asset for Wisconsin Premier. Playing the point guard position, Lanongoen also did a great job of distributing the ball and creating open shots for his teammates.
KJ LaMonte KJ LaMonte 6'2" Davenport North | 2024 IA — G — Quad City Shockers
A pure scorer with a knack for hitting tough shots, LaMaonte had one of the better individual performances of the weekend when he scored 24 points in a win over Chicago Lockdown. I was really impressed with the guard’s smooth shooting stoke and his willingness to make hustle plays. With a lot of potential still yet to be discovered, LaMonte is a prospect that I am going to keep an eye on.
Chris Davis Jr. — G — Wisconsin Premier
Davis is a dynamic scorer that can beat a defense in many different ways. As a slasher, Davis is extremely crafty. Using spin moves and his ball handling skills, the guard is able to get his defender off balance. Once this happens, he is creative enough to find unique ways to finish around contact. As a shooter, Davis is very confident. If left open, he is not afraid to let it fly from deep. I expect Davis to continue to score the ball well and potentially catch the eye of some college programs.
Second Team:
Griffin Gerdes — PG — Iowa Prep
Gerdes is a shifty lead guard that was very impressive in Iowa this past weekend. He is a tremendous ball handler, outstanding passer, and opportunistic driver. As a do it all type of prospect, I thought Gerdes did a lot to raise his stock.
Josh Wiersema — G — Iowa Mavs
One of the best long-range shooters in the gym this past weekend was Wiersema. As confident of a player as you will find, if you give Wiersema an inch of space he will look to get a shot up. Was able to score 20 points in a win for the Mavs.
Michael Jalil — G — Illinois Elite
Jalil was relentless as an attacker on Saturday morning. Using his quick first step, the Illinois Elite guard blew by his defender multiple times en route to an easy layup. Was able to score 16 points in this game.
Connor Williams — SG — Chicago Lockdown
Williams is a solid overall prospect that is very versatile. Capable of draining long distance shots and finishing well inside, the Chicago Lockdown shooting guard left a very good impression in Iowa.
Nick Black — G — Hammond Hurricanes
Black was tremendous all weekend for the Hammond Hurricanes. The guard is lighting fast with great ball handling skills. Solid as an attacker and shooter, Black was able to tally 17 points in a single half in a matchup against the Minnesota Falcons.
Third Team:
Cinco Gary — G — Illinois Elite
Corey Bates — G — Minnesota Falcons
Cooper Webb Cooper Webb 6'7" | SF Iowa City Liberty | 2024 State IA — G — Iowa Mavs
Gregory Smith — PF — Wisconsin Premier
Brennan Reid — G — Iowa Mavs
