The Prep Hoops Circuit got started over the weekend all across the country. In the Oklahoma City area, the Grind Region Kick Off took place and we had some great basketball across the OKC metro. I was set up in Edmond at Solid Rock for the 17U action from start to finish and we saw some great individual performances throughout. Earlier this week, we released the 17U All Tourney 1st Team & 2nd Team, we also released a post breaking down the top shooters. You can check that out below. In this post, it’s all about the home state. Oklahoma played host to the Grind Region Kick Off and we take a look at five in-state prospects that played well in their own backyard. Check out Prep Hoops for more coverage from the Grind Region Kick Off!

Caleb Crosby – 2022 Forward – Midwest City
(Played With 405 BadBoyz)
The only 2022 prospect in this breakdown is Midwest City big man Caleb Crosby. The 405 BadBoyz went 4-0 during the showcase and had several 2022 prospects that played incredibly well and Crosby was one of them. He was a match-up nightmare for every team they came across. He was able to use his 6’7 frame in the paint to dominate the glass but he also showed off some athleticism, stepping outside of the paint, knocking down jumpers. He even was able to handle the ball a little bit, which added another element to that match-up nightmare that we talked about.
James Reveles – 2023 Guard – El Reno
(Played With Oklahoma Runners)
One of the better scorers from the Grind Region Kick Off in terms of in-state prospects was 2023 guard James Reveles out of El Reno. He was playing with the Oklahoma Runners, who finished off the weekend 2-2. Reveles got off to a great start throughout the weekend, he was averaging right around 20 points per game in their first three games. In fact, he scored at least 20 points in all three of their first games as he showcased an ability to hit shots all over the floor. He was also aggressive with the ball and would get into the lane, finishing at the basket and did a good job at the charity stripe.
Levi Peck – 2024 Forward – Edmond Memorial
(Played With H&H Elite)
Edmond Memorial has a bright future for sure and several of their potential future stars were on display at the Grind Region Kick Off. While one of the best Bulldog standouts was Carter Hjelmstad Carter Hjelmstad 6'5" | SF Edmond Memorial | 2023 State OK , another forward standout was 2024 Levi Peck while he was playing with H&H Elite. Peck was an absolute grinder in the paint. H&H Elite had several guards that were able to light things up from distance but Peck was the go-to player when they needed a basket in the paint. He was also a mad man in terms of grabbing rebounds and getting second chance opportunities. No surprise here, Edmond Memorial has more firepower coming.
Orie Walker

– 2023 Forward – Heritage Hall
(Played With Oklahoma Wolfpack)
We go from one scrappy undersized forward to another one with Heritage Hall 2023 forward Orie Walker Orie Walker 6'3" | SG Heritage Hall | 2023 OK , who played incredibly well for the Oklahoma Wolfpack. He ended up leading his team in scoring throughout the weekend with balanced scoring in all three games that they played. The two-sport star has had a very busy offseason. He’s been playing travel 7v7 football and is now hitting the court with the Wolfpack. Like Levi Peck, Walker might be an undersized forward but he doesn’t play like it. His energy and ability to go all out on nearly every play make him so fun to watch.

– 2023 Guard – Southmoore
(Played With Team Movement)
Team Movement was right there in the conversation for one of the more dominating teams from this weekend. And we could include a few players from their team in this post as they had in-state prospects absolutely dominating from start to finish. And one of the best performances on Saturday came from 2023 guard Rodney Gray Rodney Gray 6'1" | CG Southmoore | 2023 State OK out of Southmoore. He was one of the best performers on Saturday and used a variety of skills to shine in Edmond. It all started with his defense as he forced multiple turnovers in every game and made plenty of easy baskets in transition. Gray is certainly a 2023 name to watch this offseason.
