Let’s take a look at some of the players that have got off to outstanding starts during grassroots play.
Team Loaded Junior Forward James Scott James Scott 6'9" | PF EE Smith | 2023 State NC : After his first weekend of play, he picked up an offer from Eastern Kentucky while receiving interest from several other programs. Scott has good height/wingspan and has the potential to be a double/double per game player if he stays locked and plays with a high motor on both ends of the court.
Eastern Carolia Phenomz Sophomore W/F Kayleb Coles Kayleb Coles 6'6" | PF Wayne Country Day | 2024 State NC : Putting together some of the best scoring performances that we have seen from him so far in his high school/grassroots career, Coles averaged over 25 PPG and will look to continue that level of play which could lead to some college interest. He’s 6’6 with nice athletic ability and has the tools to be a very impressive player on both ends of the floor.
Strong Center Junior Wing Jesse Mitchell: After finishing up a monster high school season, he picked up right where he left off and the 6’5 prospect is beginning to create some buzz around his name. He averaged over 20 PPG for his team during the weekend and showed that he could be effective inside the paint and out on the perimeter.
Big Shots NC Junior Forward Javian Grant Javian Grant 6'6" | SF New Life Christian | 2023 State NC : Although he still has a ways to go on and off the court, he clearly has the potential to play on the next level and put together some nice performances. Finishing around the basket, running the floor, rebounding and blocking shots are all things you see from him.
WBC Elite Freshman Guard Rodmik Allen Rodmik Allen 5'10" | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC : If you don’t name his already, you may want to get to know him sooner than later as he is a player with D1 level potential. During the high school season, he put together a solid season as a freshman and during the grassroots season, he’s dominating his age group but also is playing well when he plays up at the 17U division.
