Top Shooters
Shane Rykse Shane Rykse 6'0" | CG Schoolcraft | 2024 State MI |6’3 SG| United Persuit 2024
He cashed in many three-pointers on Friday night. Rykse has deep range that extends out to NBA depth. He was chased and shadowed because the other team knew he was the man. Shane still got loose and he hit numerous triples. He is great at catching and shooting. Rykse also showed a high-quality 15-foot jumper. He crushed it in school ball as well. Shane is fresh off State Championship in Michigan.
Derrick King jr. |6’1 G| United Persuit 2024
He was smoking hot in the second half of his game when I watched on Friday night. King showed off his range with a 22-foot three-pointer. His pull-up game was quick and true to the mark. Derrick is a smooth athlete that finished well at the rim. He plays fast and he knows how to create open looks for himself.
Cale Cosme |5’5 PG| ET21 Buckeyes 2024
He stepped up to the plate when his team really needed him. Cale went 5-5 from the FT-line in overtime to help his team pick up a win. He has nice shooting mechanics and he is a confident player. Cosme can hit from deep, mid-range, and at the cup. He scored a cool 25 points in the game that I watched.
Collin Wainscott Collin Wainscott 6'2" | PG Marmion Academy | 2023 State IL |6’2 G| IBA Illinois Stars 2024-1
On Saturday, he stood out as a three-point shooter. Collin shined as a catch-n-shoot player with a buttery-smooth release. He also hit jumpers from 15-feet. Wainscott is not just a shooter. He made hustle plays, made nice passes, and blocked shots on defense. Collin is a productive overall player.
Owen Guest |6’4 G| Ignite Hoops 2023
The first play I saw him make was a tough pull-up jumper with a hand in his face. Owen is a big guard that can shoot over defenders. I really like his pull-up game. He also knocked down numerous 3-pointers. Some of them off the bounce and others off the catch. Owen can create his own shot, he has great handles, and he moves well without the ball. Guest is a stud that can put up big points.
Eyera Nogues |6’2 SG| Illinois Drive Elite 2023
This kid can shoot the lights out. Eyera poured in points in the first half when I saw him play. He continued his offensive assault in the second half. Nogues is a 3-level scorer that can get the job done in a variety of ways. His shooting stroke from beyond the arc was one of the best that I saw at the Chi-Town Tip-Off. Eyera makes it look easy with his clean shooting form. This kid is a pure scorer.
Zach Alindogan |5’10 G| Michigan Goonies 2023
He was a lethal scorer on Sunday. Zach has a good feel for the game and he knows how to get open. His shooting form and mechanics are very nice. Alindogan has perfect timing and he does not need very much room to get a good look. Zach can fill it up from beyond the arc, I watched him hit multiple. He is not a player that should be left alone.
Josh Nelson |6’2 SG| M14 Hoops 2023-3 National
This kid is deadly from deep. I saw Nelson knock down six three-pointers and score 25 points. He catches with good feet and hands. I like how he steps into the shot and elevates without any wasted movement. Josh was consistently hitting shots throughout the game and he came up big when his team needed points late. I like that he never rushed his shot. Nelson shoots it calmly and confidently. Defenses should not lose track of Josh if they want to get a stop. Nelson was a great shooter on Easter Sunday.
