G Tavian Crawford, United Hoops – Sun Prairie (WI), 2025
This is anther player on United Hoops that I really like. Unlike other standouts, Crawford’s impact was mostly on defense. Took an early charge and battled for every loose ball. His effort in the 2nd half was terrific as he swatted away numerous shots and fought for every defensive board. Also did a good job reading offenses and knowing where players would pass. Has great defensive footwork. He did contribute on offense with two 3’s and a nice floating bank shot.
G Tyler Haney, United Hoops – Sun Prairie (WI), 2025
Haney has done it again. Only played half the game but dominated while he was on the floor. He exploded down the lane through contact for several early buckets to start. One thing I noticed Haney excel at was his lateral movement. He’s super quick at getting from one sideline to another. This attribute has allowed Haney to be a beast reading passes when United Hoops does a full court trap.
F Graham Braun, TC Elite – South Lyon (MI), 2025
Braun did all the dirty work in an impressive win over Full Package. I saw him grab three offensive rebounds in the same possession and got at least 7 or 8 offensive boards in the second half alone. Killed the defensive boards too. The height comparison between Braun and the tall FP forwards are similar. But the strength is a mismatch and that’s what allowed Braun to dominate.
F Jake Nellett, TC Elite – Walled Lake Central (MI), 2025
Like Braun, Nellet is another strong, athletic forward who dominated over the bigs of Full Package. Posted up well and fought through a lot of contact. He went 5-6 from the free throw line. What impressed me the most was his ability to turn around and shoot from the post. Made a really nice post-shot with a taller defender all over him in the last few minutes. Nellett scored a total of 18 points in Sunday afternoons game as TC Elite finished with an impressive 4-0 record.
G Greg Dodson, Hammond Hurricanes – Hammond Central, 2025
Dodson was an offensive machine in both games for Hammond Hurricanes on Sunday. Scored 22 first-half points against B3 Athletics as he found many buckets in slashing to the basket in transition. He got his passing going in the 2nd half with a couple nice assists while moving the ball down the floor. Finished game 1 with 28 points. In the second game, Dodson was more active on defense. I liked when he stopped a 2v1 fast-break by stripping the ball and finishing with coast-to-coast euro-step basket. Dodson had 16 points in game 2 vs Kessel Heat.
Eric Allen, Hammond Hurricanes – Calumet (IN), 2025
Allen absolutely lit up the floor against Kessel Heat. He hit six straight 3-pointers in the second half of that game as the Hurricanes cruised to a big win. Allen finished the game with seven 3-pointers, 22 second half points, and 25 total points to lead his team. The Hammond Hurricanes have a nice group of unselfish kids like Allen who pay their role and take advantage of the opportunities given to them. 4-0 weekend.
