The Transfer Portal is really hurting the high school game with over 1,100 kids now in it. Let’s take a look at some noteworthy players looking for schools come this fall right here. Khalil Brown Khalil Brown 6'2" | SG Boiling Springs | 2022 State SC – Boiling Springs HS – Team 864 Spiders
Brown is a rangy guard who really has a good nose for the ball. Khalil has good length which helps him make plays in the passing lanes – picking up deflections. Brown was able to connect on some perimeter jumpers today for his squad.
Chris Abercrombie Chris Abercrombie 6'1" | CG Wade Hampton | 2022 State SC – Wade Hampton HS (Greenville) – Team Static (pictured on front)
Abercrombie was an All-State selection for the Generals this past season. Chris is a combo guard who feels comfortable playing both spots in the backcourt. He is a player who can really step up to the challenge when needed to do so for his team. Chris isn’t flashy at all but he’s highly effective in knocking down an open look, making a big pass, grabbing a rebound from the guard position or just jumping into the passing lanes. Chris is going to be a great addition to any basketball program he desires to attend this fall.
Joe McGill Joe McGill 5'11" | CG Gaffney | 2022 State SC – Gaffney HS – Team 864 Spiders
McGill ran the show at times for the Team 864 Spiders bunch from the point guard spot. Joe looks to make heady plays while getting the ball to the open man. He was able to penetrate-kick today to open man on a few occasions today.
Shemar Pinder – Franklin Prep Global (Clemson) – Post Graduate
Pinder had one of the best performances I saw here in Spartanburg. Pinder originally from the Bahamas finished with 29 points while connecting on 6 three pointers from the wing. Shemar is a very good athlete with a quick shot release. He looked to swarm the ball on the defensive end and had endless energy on the floor at all times. Shemar NEVER TOOK A PLAY OFF. GREAT MOTOR and at times would leak out for cheapies in transition.
Valentino Simon – Franklin Global (Clemson) – Post Graduate
Simon is originally from the Bahamas and has been playing at Franklin Prep this past season. Valentino is an athletic wing player who has his mind set on scoring the ball. Simon 6’6 could be a good player as a rim runner at times and for sure feels most comfortable playing on the perimeter. Valentino can handle the rock up the floor at times and tends to show some good versatility.
Let’s help these players find a college this coming fall. Keep in mind to #RecruitThePalmettoState
