New Name to Add to Database:
Daniel Hutto Daniel Hutto 6'10" | PF Walhalla | 2025 State SC – BFG Bulldogs – Walhalla HS
Hutto 6’8 left-handed post player is for sure a new name to the Prep Hoops database. Daniel was able to step-out and face-up to the basket and hit some short jumpers. Hutto still must get stronger and fill out and that will come with time down the road. Daniel was able to contests and challenge shots on the defensive end while showing a nice set of hands down in the paint.
Football Standouts and Not Bad Hoop Players:
Josh Williams Josh Williams 6'0" | CG Westside | 2024 State SC – Team South Carolina – Westside HS (Anderson)
Williams is a wide receiver on the football field for the Rams. Josh has a strong frame and really looks to overpower players to the basket. He was able to connect on some mid-range jumpers when he wasn’t finishing at the cup. Josh has good body control to fight off defenders to the bucket. Williams is just one piece to this puzzle for the Red and Gray.
Andrew McKibben Andrew McKibben 6'4" | SF Travelers Rest | 2024 State SC – BFG Bulldogs – Travelers Rest HS
McKibben is a very athletic young man who really likes to attack the basket in transition. Andrew plays every play to the fullest while on the floor. McKibben is for sure an ALL-EFFORT GUY who has a great nose for the ball at all times.
Team South Carolina Wins Championship:
Team South Carolina came back through to finish the weekend 4-1 and winning the 17U bracket. Team SC playing up an age group like usual it seems Head Coach Mike Alexander stood up to the challenge.
Zayn Valentine Zayn Valentine 5'11" | PG Greer | 2024 State SC is a small guard who’s really geared to score the ball. Valentine was able to get to the basket on a regular basis today when he wasn’t fighting off defenders. Zayn was at the top of his game all weekend long for Team South Carolina. He plays at JL Mann HS in Greenville.
Jack Pfister Jack Pfister 6'5" | PF Greer Middle College | 2024 State SC and Musa Muriithi Musa Muriithi 6'2" | CG Greer Middle College | 2024 State SC have a few more years to play for the Greer Middle College Blazers and Head Coach Jamar Armstrong. Pfister a undersized post player really worked for everything he got today down in the paint. Jack is not flashy at all, but he really looks to work for position and grind out space down low.
Muriithi a rangy guard really sees the floor well as a pass first guard. Musa does a good job of finding the open man and knocking down the short corner jumper when it’s available to do so.
Durrah Looking to Make Strides:
Bradyn Durrah Bradyn Durrah 6'6" | PF Greer | 2024 State SC – Boys & Girls United – Greer HS
Durrah is still learning the game around the paint. Bradyn needs to finish stronger at times around the cup. Durrah has a slender-sleek frame and a soft touch around the basket. He looks to alter and challenge shots on defensive end of the floor while filling the lane in transition. Bradyn has good length to be active in the passing lanes while picking up some deflections along the way. Looking forward to seeing his progression down the road.
