We will also be piecing together coverage from the UAA/UA Rise circuits, the 3SSB/Adidas Gold circuits, and NY2LA which are all taking place in Indianapolis as well.
Probably the highest profile event nationwide will be the 3SSB Circuit which is running alongside the Adidas Boys Gold circuit hosted primarily by Finch Creek Fieldhouse and Warren Central High School. Let’s dive on in and breakdown the Indiana grassroots teams taking part in these events.
Indiana Elite 3SSB
Indiana Elite has long been one of the top grassroots basketball programs in the country. This season, their 17u squad features recent Penn State commit Logan Imes Logan Imes 6'4" | PG Zionsville | 2023 State #202 Nation IN (Zionsville H.S. 2023), high school teammates Jaron Tibbs Jaron Tibbs 6'4" | SF Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023) & Jake Davis Jake Davis 6'6" | SF Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023), and forwards JaQualon Roberts JaQualon Roberts 6'8" | PF Bloomington North | 2023 State IN (Bloomington H.S. North 2023) & Nick Richart Nick Richart 6'9" | PF Zionsville | 2023 State IN (Zionsville H.S. 2023). The rest of the roster is made up of out-of-state talent. The 6’7″ Roberts holds an Indiana offer along with several other mid-to-high major opportunities.
At the 16u level, a lot of eyes will be on 6’10” center Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN (Kokomo H.S. 2024). After an unbelievable season at Kokomo, the big man should become one of the most highly sought after recruits in the country. In the backcourt, a trio of talented Indiana guards in Aaron Fine Aaron Fine 6'3" | PG Noblesville | 2024 State IN (Noblesville H.S. 2024), Josiah Dunham Josiah Dunham 6'0" | PG Evansville Christian | 2024 State IN (Evansville Christian 2024), and Taden Metzger Taden Metzger 6'3" | SG Fishers | 2024 State IN (Fishers H.S. 2024) will play alongside a high scoring playmaker from Kentucky. Justin Sims Justin Sims 6'6" | PF Chesterton | 2024 State IN (Chesterton H.S. 2024) is another forward for Indiana Elite 16u.
The 15u squad has yet to release a roster that I have seen, but 6’3″ guard Braylon Mullins Braylon Mullins 6'6" | SG Greenfield-Central | 2025 State #123 Nation IN will headline the in-state talent for that group.
Indiana Ice Gold
On the Adidas Boys Gold Circuit, the Indiana Ice are back for another season with yet another talented roster. Two of the top players on the 17u team will be Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN (Hammond Central H.S. 2023) and Marcus Ankney Marcus Ankney 6'3" | SG Center Grove | 2023 State IN (Center Grove H.S. 2023). Woods is a long, athletic playmaker who will handle the ball a lot of the this team and look to lead the break in transition. Ankney is a super-skilled guard with a great shooting stroke that should have a breakout spring and summer.
In the backcourt for the 16u squad are Myles Baker Myles Baker 5'11" | PG Lawrence North | 2024 State IN (Lawrence North H.S. 2024) and Deion Miles Deion Miles 6'0" | PG Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State IN (Hamilton Southeastern H.S. 2024). Baker is a talented scorer off of the dribble while Miles has gotten a lot of valuable varsity experience early in his high school career. At the forward spot, Amari Middlebrook (Westfiled H.S. 2024) is a guy to watch this spring.
Indiana Elite Team Indiana
Jaxson Gould Jaxson Gould 6'3" | SG Warsaw | 2023 State IN (Warsaw H.S. 2023) and Luke Almodovar Luke Almodovar 6'2" | SG Noblesville | 2023 State IN (Noblesville H.S. 2023) headline the rising senior Team Indiana squad. One potential breakout player to watch for this summer will be 6’5″ forward Ian Raasch Ian Raasch 6'6" | PF NorthWood | 2023 State IN (NorthWood H.S. 2023). He has all of the physical tools and athleticism you would want and is really hard to guard inside. The rising junior team will have a solid inside-outside duo with Joey Schmitz Joey Schmitz 6'2" | PG Center Grove | 2024 State IN (Center Grove H.S. 2024) and 6’8″ Wyatt Zellers Wyatt Zellers 6'9" | PF Scottsburg | 2024 State IN (Scottsburg H.S. 2024). A new name that could breakout for the 2024 squad is Colin Taylor (New Castle H.S. 2024). He is a 6’2″ athletic guard that elevates well on his jumper and can get all the way to the basket off of the dribble. The 2025 group has a lot of young talent with guys like Carter Kent Carter Kent 6'0" | PG Jennings County | 2025 State IN (Jennings County H.S. 2025), Colby Hall Colby Hall 6'6" | PF Brownstown Central | 2025 State IN (Brownstown Central H.S. 2025), and Tyler Raasch Tyler Raasch 6'8" | C NorthWood | 2025 State IN (NorthWood H.S. 2025).
