Ayden Davis Ayden Davis 6'9" | C Onsted | 2024 State MI (C, Onsted)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #4
Davis just keeps getting better and more refined as a basketball player. It’s obvious that he’s light years ahead of most high school post players just with his size and strength alone, but it’s his gifts beyond those that are truly exciting. Davis has soft feet and the potential for a terrific mid range game.
Xander Wedlow Xander Wedlow 6'9" | PF University Prep | 2024 State MI (PF, University Prep)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #15
Wedlow is another post player that’s really setting the tone for the rest of the state. He’s a powerful finisher that can send it with a forceful 2 handed dunk finish. Wedlow is bouncy under the rim and has a lot of college coaches very intrigued.
Dontez Scott Dontez Scott 6'0" | PG Summit Academy North | 2024 State MI (PG, Summit Academy)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #33
Scott has a legitimate case to be even higher on the list. He really came into form as the high school season rolled along. Scott showed his shifty hip movement, quick ball handling, and super fast first step. Scott is an exciting playmaker and a prospect that continues to rise.
Derrick King Jr. (PG, Ottawa Hills)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #39
King Jr. is one of the more underrated players in the state. His name needs to be mentioned with the best lead guards in the class of 2024. Let’s start with the energy that he brings to the floor. King Jr. will win hustle points every game and his play doesn’t lag late with fatigue. King Jr. is a high IQ player that plays baseline to baseline
Jaxson Whitaker Jaxson Whitaker 6'4" | SG Muskegon Reeths-Puffer | 2024 State MI (SG, Muskegon Reeths-Peffer)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #46
I really liked what I saw out of Whitaker during the high school season. He was a terrific shooter that recognized good looks and seemed to shoot at a high percentage. I like Whitaker’s ability to find looks at the rim by moving and working off the ball as well as his ability to create space if need be.
Shane Rykse Shane Rykse 6'0" | CG Schoolcraft | 2024 State MI (CG, Schoolcraft)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #56
Rykse is probably just starting his ascent up the prospect rankings. He showed over the course of his team’s run to a state title that he could be one of the elite all around scorers in his class. There’s a distinct possibility that he absolutely blows up next season.
Jayden Brock Jayden Brock 6'5" | SF Byron Center | 2024 State MI (SF, Byron Center)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #78
Brock is going to be a steal at the next level. He’s a tremendous finisher at the rim and has terrific overall athleticism. Brock can play and score both in transition as well as in a half court set. Brock seems to be able to effectively play and defend multiple positions.
Uchenna Amene Uchenna Amene 6'2" | PG Detroit Catholic Central | 2024 State MI (PG, Southfield Christian)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #86
Amene absolutely exploded this high school season. He’s incredibly quick with the ball and can put his defender on his hip and carry them to the rim. Amene can play at a fast pace, yet remain distinctly under control at the same time.
Alex Gillum Alex Gillum 6'6" | PF Flat Rock | 2024 State MI (PF, Flat Rock)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #119
Gillum is a player that college coaches will really want to keep an eye on. He could end up being a superstar in the paint and an often heard name in basketball circles. He can out muscle and out finesse opponents when tracking down a rebound. Gillum has shown some bounciness that could allow him to become an elite rim protector.
