After a testy battle early, Memorial started to build their lead in the second frame with Del City big man Brandon Garrison Brandon Garrison 6'8" | C Evans | 2023 State #33 Nation OK on the bench. Tyreece Frierson Tyreece Frierson 5'10" | PG Tulsa Memorial | 2022 State OK and Jarreth Ingram Jarreth Ingram 6'4" | SF Noah | 2023 State OK stood out in particular. Frierson was his usually showman self, dazzling the crowd with deep threes. But he did have some issues with Del City’s size inside. Ingram meanwhile stepped up big as a passer. Memorial is a team that played with great unselfishness and seeing the development of passing ability for the high upside junior wing Ingram was a delight to end the year.
In the second half, the script was similar. As the Chargers kept the Eagles at arm’s distance for much of the 16 minute second half. Every time Del City had a push, Memorial pushed right back. Their waves of talent proved to be too much and Del City would never tie it or claim a second half lead.
A floater from Frierson late signaled that the Chargers would be winning their 4th Gold Ball in 6 years and 10th overall.
Tulsa Memorial with their 59-47 victory are once again the Kings of Class 5A.

Who else could it be? The senior has been one of the very best players in the state all season long. He finished with 22 points including 4 of 7 shooting from three pointers and 4 steals There are few players in Oklahoma that can score the battle than him, as he has a lethal ability to nail threes from either catch and shoot opportunities or stepping back to create separation. Then of course his ability to break down his man with the ballhandling skills and slice to the rim to drop a floater in traffic was absolutely lethal all year long. It’s a fitting end for the young man who was a freshman on the Tulsa Memorial team that won state in 2019.
