Reno will host 5A and 2A while Las Vegas will host 4A, 3A, and 1A from the Cox Pavillion. I got a chance to check out the 4A Semifinals, and Championship game, providing me one last opportunity to evaluate some of the top players in the Conference. The Title game was between Spring Valley and Mojave, with the Rattlers taking home the crown. Here’s a look at our 4A All-Tournament Team.
MVP CJ Shaw CJ Shaw 6'3" | SG Mojave | 2025 State #212 Nation NV 6’3 SG Mojave 2025 (#5PHN 2025) – Shaw was brilliant this weekend. He was terrific at what he does best, which is slashing to the rim. Shaw effortlessly was able to get to the basket both in transition and in 1 v 1 situations. In the championship, he took his game to another level. Knocking down two threes and going a perfect 10 for 10 from the line. I was able to catch up with him after the game.
1st Team
Tavionte Jackson Tavionte Jackson 6'2" | PG Las Vegas | 2022 State NV 6’2 PG Las Vegas 2022 (#5PHN 2022) – In his final high school game, Jackson reminded everyone of why he’s one of the top prospects on the West Coast. The PG was phenomenal, using his R&J ability to play above the rim. He was lightning quick on the defensive end, forcing several steals that he quickly turned into offense. Despite the loss, he finished with 30 in the Semifinal game.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’1 PG Spring Valley 2024 (#8PHN 2024) – Adem hit tough shot after tough shot in the Semifinal game against LV, going on a personal 7-0 run to effectively seal the victory. Despite being hounded by the pressure of Mojave, the sophomore PG finished with 15 in the Championship game.
Desean Moreno Desean Moreno 6'4" | PF Spring Valley | 2022 State NV 6’4 SF Spring Valley 2022 (#32PHN 2022) – Moreno was elite at his skill. He played his role to a T, using his R&J ability to catch and finish above the rim. Moreno was at his best in the Semifinal game sprinting, jumping, and dunking. The senior forward scored in double figures in both contests.
Tayan Thompson Tayan Thompson 6'4" | SF Cimarron | 2022 State NV 6’4 SG Cimarron 2022 (#28PHN 2022) – Thompson did all he could do to keep Cimarron in the game against the eventual state Champs. The wing guard displayed smooth scoring ability getting to the rim in transition, and creating for himself off the bounce. He had his mid-range working, hitting pull several pull-up jumpers. Thompson capped off the terrific season, by leading his team in scoring in the Semifinal game.
Amaris Quenum-Stewart Amaris Quenum-Stewart 6'5" | PF Mojave | 2022 NV 6’5 PF Mojave 2022 – Tip your hat to Stewart. He looks like a changed prospect from when I saw him 3 months ago. He’s slimmed down and showed off some good athletic ability finishing above the rim. Stewart put together two solid back to back games on both ends. He finished with 18 in the first game, and then put together a terrific defensive performance in the second one, battling with the SV Bigs.
