In this article, we take a look at the stockrisers in the class of 2023.
Tylen Riley Tylen Riley 6'2" | CG Durango | 2023 State NV 6’2 CG Durango 8↑6 – Riley is a tough two-way guard that put together a fabulous high school campaign. He’s always been known as a good on-ball defender. This season, however, his ability to score the ball off dribble drives and in transition really elevated his offensive package.
Jordan Morency Jordan Morency 6'4" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2023 State NV 6’3 CG Bishop Manogue 12↑8 – I was impressed with what I saw of Morency when I watched him early in the season. The guard has become a much better decision-maker, which has highlighted some of his strengths. He’s always been a good shooter, and decent athlete, he rises in the rankings after a solid season putting up double figures for a 5A club.
Nakalya Fabello Nakalya Fabello 5'10" | PG Valley | 2023 State NV 5’11 PG Valley 12↑9 – Fabello was often times the best player on the court against tough 4A competition. He’s one of the top shot makers in the state, and his ability to carry his team was key to his rise. Now firmly in the top 10, the PG has begun to pick up interest from various programs.
Ethan Goon Ethan Goon 6'7" | PF Bishop Manogue | 2023 NC 6’7 PF Bishop Manogue 29↑11 (featured image) – Goon was one of the biggest stock risers in the class. He rose partly due to a combination of skill and production. He has legitimate stretch ability and can score with his back to the basket. When you add in the fact he’s a high academic player, it’s likely he’ll have opportunities at the next level.
Karson Roberts Karson Roberts 5'10" | PG Bonanza | 2023 State NV 6’0 PG Bonanza 17↑12 – Roberts had a terrific season leading the Bengals to a division title and a first-place ranking much of the year. He’s one of the top pure PGs in the class and put his playmaking on display this year. His value as a winner allowed him to rise in the rankings.
Logan Howren Logan Howren 6'4" | SG Bishop Manogue | 2023 State NV 6’4 SF Bishop Manogue 28↑19 – Howren is one of the best playmakers in the state. The big guard is more effective as a point forward, however, he distributes from both positions. He makes a rise in the rankings after a year which saw him among the state’s leaders in assist.
Jahmon Haylock Jahmon Haylock 5'9" | PG Foothill | 2023 State NV 5’9 PG Foothill 36↑20 – Haylock is one of the top blow-by guards we have in the state. You must give him space when defending and even then he’s quick enough to get by you. He’s got a good wiggle, and can get out and finish in transition. He has a chance to rise even more if he puts together a productive summer.
Kollin Ngo Kollin Ngo 6'2" | CG Silverado | 2023 State NV 6’1 CG Silverado 31↑26 – Ngo used high-profile shooting to raise his stock. Playing off the ball, he managed to be a threat in knock-down shooting as well as when coming off screens. The combo guard was one of the top scorers on a Silverado team that won a playoff game. He’s one of the top corner shooters in the state, who was deadly accurate for each corner.
Steven Ramsey Steven Ramsey 6'3" | PF Valley | 2023 State NV 6’3 PF Valley 35↑31 – Ramsey is a guy that seems to rise in every updated rankings. He definitely has a slow but steady approach, but know he’s added consistency. Ramsey has shown the ability to rebound and finish at a high level, which has him knocking on the door of a top 30 ranking.
Joshua Valencia Joshua Valencia 6'3" | C GV Christian | 2023 State NV 6’4 PF Green Valley Christian 46↑41 – Valencia lived up to the hype, looking like a dominating force during the 1A playoffs. He used his massive frame to dominate in the low block. The hesitancy on him is playing for a small school, however, he looks every bit as dominating as a prospect playing against that level of competition should. The two sports star is an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on as we move toward the Spring and Summer season.
Devin Mabry Devin Mabry 6'6" | PF Spring Valley | 2023 State NV 6’3 SG Shadow Ridge 47↑43 – Marby has always had the look of a prospect, now he’s starting to put it together. The smooth-scoring wingman rises in the rankings after averaging nearly 15 per game. He is a good slasher that is at his best when attacking the rim. Marby does have some versatility in his offensive game, as he has shown that he is more than capable of knocking down open shots behind the 3 point line.
