We’ve already posted one list of “New Names from All-League Teams.”
Here are a few more guys who are earning some recognition at the end of the season, deserving of Prep Hoops notice:
Wyatt Broeckelman, 6-foot guard, 2023, Beloit:
Broekckelman was part of a very balanced top of the order for Beloit. In fact, three players each averaged around 11.5 points per game. But Broeckelman broke loose for a huge 38-point night against Minneapolis late in the year. He averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists to earn first-team in the North Central League.
Luke McGinnis, guard, 2022, Circle:
An all-star at quarterback in the fall, McGinnis followed up with a first-team AV-CTL Div. 3 season for Circle. There isn’t much info available about his season, but the honors are coming in. McGinnis was on the Honorable Mention list for 4A.
Jake Proctor, 6-foot-2 guard, 2023, Hesston:
Proctor was huge in the first few months of the season while Cason Richardson Cason Richardson 6'2" | CG Hesston | 2022 State KS returned from injury. He stayed big, scoring 33 points in the three-game run to the 3A title for the ultra-balanced Swathers. He is a great shooter and is a big guard for opponents to deal with. He earned first-team honors in the Central Kansas League, and was on the first-team in 3A as well.
Peyton Rush, 6-foot-1 guard, 2023, Oxford:
Rush is a big guard who dominates on boards. His 15.7 points and 11. 2 rebounds are really impressive. His play earned him first-team in the South Central Border League and Honorable Mention in 1A Div. 1.
Tyson Struber, 6-foot-2 forward, 2022, Canton-Galva:
There are a couple of reasons why Struber has lacked a lot of ink on the Prep Hoops site. First, he plays at a small school that doesn’t put out a lot of stats. But more importantly, it’s been known for a while that Struber is heading to K-State on a football scholarship. But we shouldn’t overlook that this stud athlete has had a nice hoops career too. He was named first-team in the Wheat State League.
