They will bring all of their top players back from a 15-7 team. Every bright basketball mind that I have spoken with from South Dakota, talks up about how Hamlin is the team to watch in the future, they are scary, and that they have a ton of potential! It was coach Todd Neuendorf’s first year at Hamlin as the new head coach. I would suspect things will only improve as he settles into the new school and players become accustomed to his style. Neuendorf is a very good coach and one of the best in South Dakota. Hamlin has a great leader and loads of young talent, look out for the Chargers in the coming years. They will be a force to be reckoned with!
The Hamlin Chargers finished with a 15-7 record, losing in the second round of the postseason to Sioux Valley. The Chargers won a share of the NEC Conference title, something that hadn’t been done since 2000. The Chargers finished the season with four players averaging double figures.
Tyson Stevenson Tyson Stevenson 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2024 State SD (2024) |6-1 SG| – He led the team with 15 ppg, 3.1 rpg, and 2 apg. Stevenson was beyond impressive when I watched him play this season. He is a skilled and very quick guard. Tyson had some monster-scoring games this season. I really liked his slashing, cutting, and finishing at the rim. He is a crafty, versatile, and athletic bucket scorer.
Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-10 PG| Hamlin – He averaged 11.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, and 5.6 apg. Neuendorf was the best young point guard that I saw this season. His fundamentals are way advanced for his youth. Easton is quick, but he really stands out by always being in control of the tempo. He knows when to push and when to slow down. Neuendorf also stuck out as a hardworking player and a heady defender. Easton is also an effective slasher and scorer off the bounce.
Brennan Keszler Brennan Keszler 6'4" | SF Hamlin | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-3 SF| – He averaged 13.4 ppg 4.7 rpg, and 1.7 apg.
Evan Stormo Evan Stormo 6'3" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-2 SF| – He averaged 10.1 ppg 3.3 rpg, and 1.1 apg. Stormo is a versatile offensive weapon that can put up points at the cup or from stroking the outside jumper. Evan is a good athlete with intriguing strength. Stormo is another Charger to look out for in the future.
Dawson Noem Dawson Noem 6'4" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-4 F| – He provided an outside shooting threat for the Chargers and also was asked to guard the other teams BIG in the post. Noem led the team with 24 charges on the season!
Rylan Bawdon (2023) |6-5 F| – He was a key player off the bench for Hamlin. Bawdon provided size and perimeter shooting for the Chargers.
The Chargers improved throughout the season and had a lot on their plate with learning a new system under Coach Todd Neuendorf. The season had its growing pains, but the Chargers are excited for the years ahead and the returning of the entire team with exception of its lone Sr. Joel Opdahl.
The future is very bright for the Hamlin Chargers!
