Zach Keller Zach Keller 6'9" | PF ThunderRidge | 2022 State #81 Nation CO – ThunderRidge
Zach Keller Zach Keller 6'9" | PF ThunderRidge | 2022 State #81 Nation CO had a dominant performance on both ends of the floor to seal his second state championship in a row. The Wake Forest commit down low was like a mobile brick wall, he was quick on his feet and did not give opponents an inch of space. Zach manned the paint and was able to be a great rim protector scaring defenders away from the rim. Zach also used his big frame and good instincts to sky up for rebounds. Offensively he had big and-1 plays and a massive tomahawk dunk in the 4th to seal the victory.
Cameron Lowe Cameron Lowe 6'5" | SF Lewis-Palmer | 2022 State CO – Lewis-Palmer
Cameron Lowe Cameron Lowe 6'5" | SF Lewis-Palmer | 2022 State CO looked like the most dominant player in his championship performance of anyone. The Air Force commit was a vocal leader on the court guiding his teammates to the right spots on the floor. Despite being a wing Cam did not mind cleaning the defensive glass pulling in 13 rebounds. Cam was able to get downhill to finish at the rim and also took advantage of smaller match-ups scoring in the close mid-range above players’ heads. Cam drew the eyes of the defense and he used that to his advantage making dish-off passes to open teammates.
Shae Korpela- Aspen
Shae Korpela showed his ability to score from all three levels in Aspen’s championship performance. Shae standing at 6’4 was able to use his length to make long strides to the rim and finish around defenders. He also had some nice shots in the floater range. Shae was able to show off his team’s chemistry dropping dimes to cutters through tight windows. At the end of the 4th Shae hit big free throws to seal the 3A State Championship.
Clay Robinson- Yuma
Clay Robinson was flat out the best player on the court in the 2A state championship game. Clay was active on the defensive end, leading Yuma’s full-court press. Clay created fastbreaks and often finished them as well. Near the rim, Clay used good body control to stay in the air and finish lay-ups and floaters. Clay was also able to spread the floor with a smooth jump shot.
Eduardo Verdu- McClave
Eduardo Verdu had a good performance leading his team to the 1A state championship. Eduardo was aggressive driving towards the rim and was able to effectively draw fouls. Eduardo hit a three-pointer in the first half allowing his team to get into a scoring rhythm. He was also able to keep his eyes up at all times to find open teammates. Watch out for Eduardo and McCave next year in 1A as they are mostly underclassmen.
