No. 11 Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI (Waukesha South)
Whiffed on this one over the summer. Cook has more than lived up to the hype this season. A strong, athletic, and skilled guard, Cook can take over games offensively and is a much better shooter than I thought. Get this kid isolated 1-on-1, Cook has the tools to create something positive. He was a big reason why Waukesha South captured the Classic Eight title and earned a 1-seed in the WIAA State Tournament, averaging 23.2 points per game.
No. 18 Caleb Glaser Caleb Glaser 6'6" | SF Appleton East | 2023 State WI (Appleton East)
Previous: 57
Have loved watching Glaser grow over the last year. The 6-foot-7 junior has dominated some games on the block in the Fox Valley Association. Glaser does the little things and wins his battles early by setting pinning his man deep in the paint. Glaser has some of the best post footwork in the state. Think by the end of this summer, he’s going to really expand his game to the perimeter and be able to take more defenders off the bounce. Defensively, Glaser is also an outstanding shot blocker/rim protector.
No. 34 Demarion Burch Demarion Burch 6'3" | SG Milwaukee Hamilton | 2023 State WI (Milwaukee Hamilton)
Previous: 34
Burch is having a big junior season for Hamilton, putting up 30 points, seven rebounds, and five assists per game. An explosive wing, Burch can get coast-to-coast with the basketball and make highlight plays above the rim. Want to see him in AAU again, but think he could be higher than where we currently have him.
No. 51 Collin Madson Collin Madson 6'4" | PG Mukwonago | 2023 State WI (Mukwonago)
Previous: No. 106
Skilled, high-IQ, all-around guard with really good positional size (6-3). Madison is averaging 14 points per game for a squad that has four players averaging in double figures. Really good shooter off the pick n’ roll and is knocking down about 43 percent of his looks from 3-point range this season.
No. 53 August Maurer August Maurer 6'4" | PF Hortonville | 2023 State WI (Hortonville)
Mobile big man who’s also a strong football prospect. Maurer is averaging 16 points, five rebounds, and two assists in the Fox Valley Association. He’s undersized (6-3), but plays with a high motor. Saw him as more of an interior bruiser earlier in his career, but Maurer has transformed into a wing who can slash and use his strength to power home the basketball. Good inside-out and two-way ability here.
No. 61 J.R. Lukenbill J.R. Lukenbill 6'4" | SG Burlington | 2023 State WI (Burlington)
Previous: 78
Quietly having a big junior season, averaging 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, all of which are team highs. The 6-foot-4 guard is shooting an impressive 54 percent from the field, including 36 percent from 3-point range. Sneaky athletic guard with some bounce and really nice change of direction in traffic.
No. 69 Max Tutas (Sheboygan North)
Previous: 93
Tutas is averaging 18.3 points per game as a junior. Played on the Wisconsin Playground Warriors second team over the summer and did well, but wasn’t sure what to make of it and still could be undervalued. The 6-foot-3 guard is skilled and very slithery in traffic. Also shows tremendous anticipation on the defensive end and takes away a lot of baskets by the opposition.
No. 74 Solomon Garrison Solomon Garrison 5'10" | PG Homestead | 2023 State WI (Homestead)
Previous: No. 114
Really like the way Garrison runs the show for a deep Homestead team. A sparkplug-type lead guard, Garrison is averaging 13 points and 6.0 assists per game for a 22-2 squad. Garrison is a downhill scorer and dribble-drive facilitator. He also has supreme quickness on the ball and long arms that allow him to finish over bigs.
