Class 6A has been the chaos class all season long. Booker T Washington started the year low in the rankings but gradually climbed to the top seed in the East. Even though Edmond Memorial racked up 20 wins on their way to the West’s top seed, their Edlam rivals North and Santa Fe were both able to bloody the Buldogs’ noises at various times throughout the season. Similar stories played out throughout the state as schools traded wins and losses and parity reigned king.
The opening rounds of regionals matched that, as three programs that all had realistic dreams of making it to Norman next week were sent packing. Deer Creek won on a late shot by

The senior had 27 points in their opening round win over Ponca City. Parker is an explosive scorer, who is capable of changing games with his ability get off shots and can make his living in the mid range and at the rim as a strong finisher. For the Hornets to accomplish their lofty goals, they’ll need him to be at his best all playoffs long.

and Conn0r Dow. As Regionals host, this will be the high motor Fry’s final home game as a Ram. He’s one of the more popular unsigned seniors in the state, as he’s racked up offers from many regional Division 2 and even some national programs. Look for the passionate Fry to leave it all on the court with rebounds, blocked shots and maybe even a few slams.

The Tigers primarily racked up wins against Class 5A and 4A in Eastern Oklahoma, so even with their stellar record they entered the playoffs as somewhat of an unknown in the Class 6A landscape. After their win over Bartlesville, it’s safe to say they have everyone’s attention. A big reason for their victory was junior post man Hayden Smith who had 24 points. On the year he’s averaging 14.3 points 6.7 rebounds, and him continuing to have success will be key for Tahlequah to keep on dancing as the calendar turns to March.

The Roughers have been led by senior guard Campbell, who has been torching the nets all season long. He continued that theme by scoring 30 points, over half of his team’s point total in their win over Union.

The Abilene Christian signee is one of the most consistent players in the state and is a fitting talisman for the Bulldogs. Even if he’s not scoring, he’ll leave his mark on the game with his ability to rebound and act as an important passer for their intricate offensive attack.

In what will be an environment charged with emotions it will be crucial for the junior to keep a level head.

After they spilt a pair of games in mid-January, this will be the third match up between these programs this season. The development of the athletic Barrett into more of a true point guard will be a key factor in just how far the youthful Huskies go this season. He’s an athletic slasher to the rim, that has shown growth as a creator but still shines the most when just allowed to score and play in transition.
