Carlos Orr Carlos Orr 6'3" | SG Gatlinburg-Pittman (football) | 2024 State TN played exceptionally, drawing two charges in a row in the middle of the second quarter. He followed that up with a floater in the lane. GP’s offense was ok, but their defense was largely overwhelmed with speed and quickness. If not for Orr’s heroic lane domination, the first lead would have ballooned out of control.
Dennis Lewis Jr. (2023) | PG| Brainerd
The lefty proved pure in the first half, hitting a three-pointer from the corner. Lewis Jr. was not alone as the ball-handler, but he was very solid when he was on-ball. The team is filled with wings and his ability to handle pressure and dictate tempo really helped and helps. In the third quarter, Dennis hit the defense with an in-and-out dribble into a swirling lefty layup in traffic.
Jakyse Locklin (2022) |SG| Brainerd
Wonderfully powerful wing guard, Jakyse was everywhere on the floor in the first half against GP. His rebounding and hunger in attacking the rim made the game competitive and more phgysical than GP was willing to play. His strength on the ball and defensively is unique at the 1A level and his speed is surprising. Beautiful dunk early in the third quarter. Lefty, hanging. Locklin is a specimen with poise. He plays well for his teammates and does not try to take over. Brainerd’s brilliance is really in the balance and the athleticism. Jakyse and his coach did a fantastic job of utilizing both and punishing GP for this distinct difference.
Ty Glasper Ty Glasper 6'1" | PG Gatlinburg-Pittman | 2025 State TN (2025) | PG Gatlinburg-Pittman
Ty was very, very quiet in the first half. Honestly, he did not even draw attention or make a meaningful impact. His third quarter picked up quite a lot. Glasper made a challenged lefty layup [he is left-handed] and followed a minute later with a nice three-pointer to open up a small GP lead on the hosting Panthers of Brainerd.
Brainerd traps, thought they forced a turnover. They did not.
BUT, on the ensuing in-bounds play, @Dennis_Lewis3 stole the next try!!!
GP quickly fouled before he got an uncontested layup.

Latavious Conyers (2022) | F| Tyner Academy
Ridiculous punishing of the undersized, hopeless Alcoa Tornados. From the first quarter throughout, Conyers was the bigger man and the bigger scorer.
Keelan Jackson Keelan Jackson 6'4" | SF Tyner Academy | 2023 State TN (2023) | SF | Tyner Academy
Keelan was not the overwhelming offensive force that he occasionally can become. What he did Monday night was deflect passes and alter shots. Tyner was forced to slug out an overtime win against a undermanned yet prideful Alcoa team. Jackson’s long arms an advantage, but he managed to keep those hands in passing lanes and reacted quickly. Credit him for making the facilitation of offense difficult for Jahvin Carter Jahvin Carter 6'2" | PG Alcoa | 2024 State #214 Nation TN and the other AHS guards.
Gibson County (56) @ Summertown (61)
Gavin Burleson Gavin Burleson 6'4" | PG Summertown | 2022 TN (2022) | F | Summertown
The senior hit a 50′ three-pointer when the horn screamed out. How did he make it? Nobody knows. The bucket gave Gavin his 27th point of the game and sent it to overtime.
NO Front-Door WAY!
Cole Lannom (Gibson County) shot a 3-pointer, with a hand in his face. Yes, Cole Lannom shot his FIRST shot of the game.
2.1 left. Gibson County looks set
NOOOO! NOO @GavinBurleson4 Burleson just hit a 50' three-pointer at the horn. NOOO

Ethan Turner (2023) | F | Gibson County
The big man was missed greatly when he sat out, allowing Summertown to take command, but when Turner was on the floor he dominated the post and scored virtually at will. The only reason Gibson County stayed close was because Turner owned the lowlands. He finished with 19 points without playing the second quarter. He did foul out in overtime.

Jaylen Jones Jaylen Jones 6'0" | PG East Nashville | 2023 State #178 Nation TN (2023) | PG | East Nashville
The electric lead guard whipped out his wizardry in his home gym. The fans that slipped into that hot house were treated to the full course. Jones fed the fans and his players whimsical passes seemingly every minute of the blowout win. Jones is gunning for that #1 PG in Tennessee spot, and frankly he believes he is among the best point guards in the United States. The best court awareness anywhere…
