Bellaire High School vs Shadow Creek High School
Bellaire High School:
Shelton Henderson Shelton Henderson 6'7" | SF Bellaire | 2025 State #89 Nation TX 2025 6’5 Bellaire High School
Shelton is one of the most dominant freshman I have seen play this year. I was blown away finding out that he was a freshman with the amount of strength and agility he has on his actual frame and in his game. He has massive hands that allow him to catch tough passes and quickly put the ball on the floor to get out of trouble. He is fearless at attacking the rim and is a beast at finishing through contact. In a playoff battle with Seven Lakes, he made light work of a 6’8 defensive minded junior big man, posterizing him on the break and finishing two “And-1s” over him. He is dominant at using quick moves out of a triple threat to get his defender off balance and attack the basket. Henderson’s aggressiveness and ability to get into the actual paint with a live dribble is elite already.
However his aggressiveness is not only on the offensive end of the floor as he hunts for his shots in the midrange and the paint, he is great at tying up ball handlers as they go to split a double team or get free after a rebound. He was great at getting his long arms into his opponent and poking the ball free, or coming up with chase down blocks. His frame and strength on the defensive end of the floor should allow him to easily defend guards and wings, even at the next level (keep in mind he is a FRESHMAN). At the high school level he is capable of being switched onto stronger and larger forwards and holding his own. I am not surprised to soon find out he is working with John Lucas, as his game looks mature and polished already. This is one elite prospect that you need to keep your eyes on over the next few years.
Anthony Andrews Anthony Andrews 6'7" | PF Bellaire | 2025 State #367 Nation TX 2025 Bellaire High School
Anthony is a large stretch forward that can truly get it done from all three levels of the floor, and protect the rim on the other end. He loves acting as the trailer man as his aggressive guards attack the rim and swing the ball out to him from atop the key. He is a very polished shooter for his size and age, I was very surprised to watch him knock down shots from all over the arc when given time to set his feet. He has a high release point which makes it difficult for defenders to guard him. When he needs to clean it up on the glass he can with ease. He is an aggressive rebounder who makes it a priority to box out his man on both ends of the floor. Andrews even showed an ability to get into some tough post fade aways and jump hooks. I would like to see Andrews work on his ability to create with a live dribble and out of the triple threat. He will always have his back to the basket game, but if he can become a bit more dynamic with a live dribble and work on getting his head down and living in the paint after taking his opponent off the bounce the floor will continue to open up for him.
Jacolb Cole Jacolb Cole 6'8" | SF Link Academy | 2023 #148 Nation MO 2023 6’8 Bellaire High School
Jacolb was very impressive in the few games I have seen him play. He was getting to his shot at all three levels, dominating on the block and attacking the basket with a live dribble. His agility and ability to maneuver around defenders in the paint was very impressive. He is a confident spot up shooter from the corners and wings, which forces defenders to run at him hard and allowing him to blow by them with a one to two dribble move. His ability to consistently knock down shots from the midrange really opened up the lane and the arc for him. His size and ability to get around his defenders is incredibly elite. He always puts pressure on the defense by getting into the paint. He consistently makes the right reads to his open shooters, including on the most important play of their season. He has the ability to take over any game he wants to and can do so on both ends of the floor. He defended bigs at a high level and seemed to swallow up smaller guards. Bellaire beat Cypress Ridge and then Seven Lakes on a CRAZY buzzer beater, (created by Cole) and are set to take on Cypress Creek on March 1.
Shadow Creek High School:
Camron Amboree

2022 6’2 Shadow Creek High School
Camron has been lighting it up for Shadow Creek and is a real one two punch with Shawn Jones. Amboree has the ability to fill up the stat sheet from beyond the arc. He is very comfortable getting to his own shot off the dribble, even from deep NBA level range. It has been a real pleasure watching him pick apart defenses with the threat of his scoring ability. However, his ability to control the game and play at his own speed is what truly makes him special, he never seems sped up or rushed into bad looks. He consistently makes the right reads and is always directing traffic and helping out the young talent Shadow Creek has coming up behind him. Watching him run in transition might be the best part of his game, he is a bully when committing to getting to the rim and will finish over anyone he has to with the right touch. Look for him to be lighting it up at Oral Roberts University next year! Shadow Creek beat Clear Springs, Summer Creek and Dickinson in the first three rounds of the playoffs.
Shawn Jones Jr

2022 6’5 Shadow Creek High School
Shawn continues to have a stellar senior campaign, he is scoring at all three levels efficiently and effectively. I am blown away with how much his shooting mechanics and consistency have improved since his sophomore season. He is a real weapon to score off the bounce from the midrange or beyond the arc. His handle is much tighter, and is comfortable looking for his shot at all three levels of the floor now. I have not even mentioned his freak athleticism that allows him to fly to the rim and finish over anyone, or suck the air out of the gym with a nasty jam. He has the athletic tools coaches dream about, and has the ability to make all of the jaw dropping plays on both sides of the floor. He is fearless when attacking the basket and dares you to leap with him at the rim, on offense or on defense! Expect Jones to transition with ease over to the next level, as he is committed to attending Texas State next year. Shadow Creek beat Clear Springs, Summer Creek and Dickinson in the first three rounds of the playoffs.
Chase Cain Chase Cain 6'7" | PF Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX 2023 6’6 Shadow Creek High School
Chase is an incredibly lanky and long athlete whose size seemed to fill up the paint and affect opponents on both sides of the floor. He moves very well for his size and showed a real ability to stay in front of quicker guards and hold his own against larger forwards looking to bang down low. In his matchup against Dickinson he was tasked with handling the three headed big man monsters that Dickinson has. Even after getting elbowed in the eye late in the second half he came back in showed off his grit, energy and willingness to do all of the dirt work on both ends of the floor. He came out and blocked jump shots and turned away shots down low with ease. He ran the floor well and dove without the ball to give his guards an open target to fire passes in down low, which he turned into easy bunny hooks over pretty much anyone. I also believe he needs to focus on the outside in aspect to his game, and work on his pull up jumper as well as his handle and ability to get to the rim. Shadow Creek beat Clear Springs, Summer Creek and Dickinson in the first three rounds of the playoffs.
Bryce Jackson Bryce Jackson 6'5" | SG Shadow Creek | 2025 TX 2025 Shadow Creek High School
Bryce is an incredibly lanky freshman with all the tools in the world to grow into a tremendous playmaking wing. His long arms and ability to move his feet make him a very versatile and effective defender. It allows Coach President to throw him at any matchup he sees fit, wether he needs his length to seemingly take away a high level guard or he needs him to stay back on the wing while the stronger Shawn Jones and Chase Cain Chase Cain 6'7" | PF Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX takes on the bigger matchups. He is very consistent when he has the basketball, and knows when to catch and shoot, put the ball on the floor and attack the rim or look to make the extra pass. Jackson seems to grow another leap every time I go see him play, and I have been very impressed with his maturity in a bunch of tight spots down the stretch of these playoff games. His shot making off of the catch is real weapon, and he is very consistent in the corners and on the wings. His floor spacing, switchability and fearlessness for his age are all incredibly strong indicators that this young man has a real career ahead of him.
Fort Bend Clements vs Atascocita High School
Fort Bend Clements High School:
Divine Ugochukwu 2024 Fort Bend Clements High School
Divine is an athletic combo guard who is fantastic at all three levels of the floor. He is a willing hunter of his midrange shot, and plays energetic and high level defense on the other end. He does all of the little things right on the court, such as spacing when running the fast break or hustling over to protect the backside of the defense after a skip pass. It was fun watching him run around and wreak havoc every time he was near the ball on the defensive end of the floor. What I love most about his game is his willingness to take over when his team is in trouble. They all know they can rely on him as a scorer in late game situations and his ability to get to his spots in the paint and the midrange allows him to hunt easy looks for himself all night. Divine and his sophomore running mate (Bryce Matthews 2024) are the main reason Fort Bend Clements is having late success, after taking down Katy Tompkins, Cy Fair and Mayde Creek. Clements is going to tear some teams apart over the next few years…
Bryce Matthews 2024 Fort Bend Clements High School
Bryce is a strong combo guard who thrives at attacking the basket. He has strong moves when getting into the teeth of the defense and can euro step his way out of trouble. He can get to his shot at all three levels, especially off of the bounce. The pairing of him and Ugochukwu is sure to be a fun pairing to watch as they continue to grow. Even if they do not have a strong playoff performance now, the two of them should be playing off eachother into another playoff appearance next year as well. Bryce and his sophomore running mate (Divine Ugochukwu 2024) are the main reason Fort Bend Clements is having late success, after taking down Katy Tompkins, Cy Fair and Mayde Creek. Clements is going to tear some teams apart over the next few years…
Abudllah Olajuwon 2022 Fort Bend Clements High School
Abdullah is a high energy forward who thrives at cleaning the glass and attacking the ball at its high point. His ability to rebound the ball and accurately fire out passes to his shooters on the perimeter gives his team a plethora second chance opportunities. His energy on the glass and ability to rebound the ball allows his team to dominate in transition when he has his head up and makes the right outlet pass. Olajuwon has been putting the team on his back during the playoff run, especially down low on the defensive end of the floor. He seems to have a real spark lit underneath him as he is coming out with some aggressive play.
Atascocita High School:
Kaleb Pouncy 2022 6’7 Atascocita High School
Kaleb is a lanky forward who is great at finishing at the rack, especially in transition. He dominates the game in the full court and really puts pressure on the defense with his ability to rebound the ball and score at the rim. He has great mobility and good ball control for his size, and looks like he has real potential to become a three level scoring big man or stretch wing. I would like to see continued development with his shot off the dribble. Pouncy is a special player who has all the tools to develop into a high level big man at the next level. Atascocita is set to take on Fort Bend Clements High School after beating Deer Park, Clear Falls and Dawson in dominant fashion.
Connor Miller 2022 6’3 Atascocita High School
Connor is a sniper at the shooting guard position, who thrives off his ability to affect the game by getting open off the ball. His constant movement and his ability to always be ready to catch and shoot propelled his team to a shot at the championship. He is not only a shooter from beyond the arc however, he got to his shot in the midrange and attacked the basket hard. He is a dynamic scorer who loves getting to his shot off the bounce and creating looks for his team. I was most impressed with his ability to get his teammates involved as the defense began to focus on shutting down his shooting. Atascocita is set to take on Fort Bend Clements High School after beating Deer Park, Clear Falls and Dawson in dominant fashion.
