First Team:
G- Issac Tevarus, 6’5″, Jr. – I promise this is not a typo… Tevarus put on an absolute show in the semifinal, scoring 44 (!) and grabbing 16 rebounds. The junior guard shot an incredible 18-27 en route to his outstanding stat line. Believe it or not, Tevarus only had 10 points at halftime, and turned on the jets scoring 34 in the second half and overtime. The opposing coach of Sagemont was quoted in a Yahoo News article saying that he was throwing everything he could at Tevarus and he was still willing the ball to go in. This was an all time performance in the state tournament.
G- Adrian Cruz Adrian Cruz 6'3" | PG Sagemont | 2022 State FL , 6’3″, Sr. – Once again, not a mistake. In the same game Tevarus dropped 44, Adrian Cruz Adrian Cruz 6'3" | PG Sagemont | 2022 State FL dropped 40. The semifinal between NFEI and Sagemont was as entertaining as they come. Video game like stat lines emerged from both teams. Cruz shot an incredible 11-20 from the field, including 16-18 from the line. What’s equally, if not more, impressive about having a 40 point game is the fact that the senior guard was able to do so on very efficient shooting – 55% to be exact.
G/F- Latrell Davis, 6’2″, Jr. – Davis led his team with 25 points in a narrow loss to a talent loaded team in OCP. The junior guard was the main offense for the Lions of First Baptist Academy. I am predicting a monster senior year for Davis.
F- Ven-Allen Lubin Ven-Allen Lubin 6'7" | PF Orlando Christian Prep | 2022 State #144 Nation FL , 6’8″, Sr. – Lubin is a highly recruited 4 star with incredible talent. He had 20 points in the semifinal with 8 rebounds. The Notre Dame commit pairs size with finesse. He had 15 points and 14 rebounds to secure the state title for the Warriors.
G- AJ Brown AJ Brown 6'4" | CG Orlando Christian Prep | 2022 State #190 Nation FL , 6’4″, Sr. – The Ohio University commit didn’t disappoint in the state tournament. He is a player used to making big shots. Brown scored 17 and grabbed 6 boards in the semifinal win over First Baptist. He followed up with a 21 point performance in the title game.
Honorable Mention:
G- Ameer Ramadan Ameer Ramadan 6'0" | PG Orlando Christian Prep | 2024 State FL , 6’0″, So. – Ramadan is an efficient scorer, which is rare for an underclassman. The sophomore scored 12 points on 4-9 from the field and grabbed 8 rebounds in the semifinal. The followup performance was even better, shooting a perfect 5-5 with 13 points and 4 assists. He should step into an even bigger role next year with the departure of Lubin and Brown.
F- Nedas Zukauskas Nedas Zukauskas 6'8" | PF Sagemont | 2022 State FL , 6’9″, Sr. – Nedas was solid for Sagemont in the final, scoring 14 points and grabbing 5 rebounds against the OCP Warriors.
F- Olsen Henry Olsen Henry 6'4" | PF First Baptist | 2023 FL , 6’4″, Jr. – Olsen Henry Olsen Henry 6'4" | PF First Baptist | 2023 FL nearly had a double-double with 9 points and 7 rebounds in the semifinal. Henry is a great rebounder and should have a really good senior year next year.
