Continue ReadingThe Sophomore class is a good one and we’ve already got over 100 ranked players in the class before their 16u AAU seasons start. There are several kids with modest statistics but big time potential so it’s been a tough class to figure out so far. This is a big summer for 2024 kids and these are the biggest risers in the latest update. This does not include players who were in the top 10 of the rankings.
Max Green Max Green 6'6" | CG Oldham County | 2024 State KY , Oldham County (39–>12) – Max made a big move up the rankings after a solid Sophomore campaign and a growth spurt. He still needs to continue to get stronger but Green shoots at a high level and carries himself with a swagger on the court. It remains to be seen if Max is ultimately a point guard, a shooting guard or a little of both but he deserved a big move up the rankings.
Jack Reddick Jack Reddick 6'4" | PG Lyon County | 2024 State KY , Lyon County (32–>20) – Reddick is a versatile guard who gets overshadowed at times but is a good player in his own right and looks like he will eventually be a scholarship level player in college. Jack can create his own offense or get open looks for teammates and has shown he’s capable of guarding multiple positions on the defensive end.
Brett Decker Brett Decker 6'2" | PG Central Hardin | 2024 State #211 Nation KY , Central Hardin (38–>27) – Decker is trending up and could keep climbing as he has a big AAU season coming up. Brett is quick and shifty and can change speeds well to fluster defenders. He’s a good decision maker with the ball in his hands and has the athletic ability to get under opposing guards and cause issues for them when he’s on the defensive end.
MJ Wardlow, Bowling Green (62–>29) – Wardlow was a huge part of Bowling Green’s reload season this year and had them on the brink of a regional championship. A 6’1 point guard, MJ is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and is a good decision maker. He also shot the ball at better than 41% for the season from three. Keep an eye on this kid as the next great guard from Bowling Green.
Luke Erhardt Luke Erhardt 5'11" | SG Spencer County | 2024 State KY , Spencer County (63–>46) – Erhardt had a big season for the Bears including several high scoring games as a Sophomore. Averaging 22 points per game, Luke is a volume scorer but a relatively efficient one with shooting splits of 45-39-81 and has shown he should be on the radar for scholarship level schools in the future.
