The lifting of the restrictions in NorCal has allowed PH to cover more areas of NorCal than before. We’ve expanded the ranking with lots of movement up and down, and plenty of new prospects.
Gavin Cook Whisenton Gavin Cook Whisenton 6'2" | CG Liberty | 2024 State CA-N 6’2 G of Liberty
He’s a rising newcomer we’ll have to keep track of. A playmaker with good handles to run an offense, and to create his own shot. He handles pressure in the backcourt, he gets to the basket from the perimeter, can finish through contact. He’ll rebound, then push with good decision making. He’s a rebounding guard, with good intensity on defense. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List for the spring and summer
Josiah Jones Josiah Jones 6'0" | CG St. Patrick-St. Vincent | 2024 CA-N 5’10 G of St. Patrick-St. Vincent, Vallejo CA
Jones gets better each time we see him. He’s a speedy guard with a knock down mid-range jump shot that goes down consistently. He has speed and quickness using his first step and cross over dibble to blow by defenders for various finishes at the basket, including reverses in transition or in half court. He has the footspeed, quickness and strength to be a disrupter on defense.
Marcellas Jackson Marcellas Jackson 6'6" | PF Capital Christian | 2024 State CA-N 6’6 F/P of Capital Christian
A good athlete who has good hops, he runs the court, works for rebounds and can defend bigger players in the post area with his strength. His offense is still developing but he has an improving jumper hook in the paint, and a strong attack along the baseline from the short corner in. We’ll see more him.
Amani Johnson Amani Johnson 6'3" | CG Salesian Prep | 2024 State CA-N 6’2 G, of Salesian College Prep.
Johnson bring a no nonsense work ethic to the court. He’s all about making his man work for points. He’s strong, aggressive, with good intensity, he’ll fights over screens, play good denial. He has the body to rebound and handle contact inside, which makes him a good rebounding guard. He has 3pt range, good passing skills.
Ryan Pettis Ryan Pettis 6'2" | CG Serra | 2024 State CA-N 6’2 SG, CG, of Serra
Pettis is a quick bouncy guard with decent handles. He has the foot speed to get to where he wants to go. He’s hard to guard when he has open space. He gets the ball up court fast in transition, he gets into the paint for jumpers. He has a good first step and he gets good lift on his mid-range jumper. He can hit the 3, and has the footspeed to play good on ball defense.
Kentrell Kelly Kentrell Kelly 6'5" | SF Monterey Trail | 2024 State CA-N 6’6 F/P of Monterey Trail
He’s an actively player with good energy on the court. Kelly plays the post mostly, but moves more like a wing or small forward. He has to develop his away from the basket game, with that being said he was effective in the post averaging 14.6pts, 6.8rebs,1.8blks, and 1.5stls a game this season. He finishes in transition, he works hard to defend bigger players in the post. He’s on the Wright’s Watch list.
Nes Emeneke Nes Emeneke 6'10" | C Archbishop Riordan | 2025 State CA-N 6’9 PF/C of Woodside Priory.
He’s still a bit on the raw side. but he has an improving set of skills for the post area. He’s long, and moves well on the court. He can change a shot, go after rebounds, and will get better over time defending the post area. He works well from the high post passing, and finding open shooters, and cutters. He has a long stride and one dribble that gets him to the rim for drop ins or dunks from the high post. He’s on the Wright’s watch List.
Ja’len Flenory Ja’len Flenory 5'9" | PG Laguna Creek | 2024 State CA-N 5’8 PG, G of Cosumnes Oaks
Flenory is a strong, fast speedy guard with superb handles. He has the ability to go get points from any area on the court. He can be a facilitator with patience, vision and passing skills, or he can unleash his scorers mentally and be hard to guard in transition and on the perimeter. He can stop on the dime for pull-ups, he’ll hit 3’s with some success. He’s a good on ball defender.
Seamus Deely Seamus Deely 6'5" | SF San Ramon Valley | 2024 State CA-N 6’4 G/F of San Ramon Valley
Deely a good all around prospect, with a good sized body, he still has some growing to do, but he’s a quality prospect with good fundamentals. He’s a scrapper. He’s more of a point forward at this stage. He has good vision, handles, passes up like a guard in transition. He has the body and toughness to defend and bang the boards in the paint. He can score from the high post, hit the short jumper.
Mario Williams Mario Williams 6'5" | SG Venture Academy | 2024 State CA-N 6’3 SG of Venture Academy
Williams Jr. helped lead Venture Academy 24-7, 10-0 to the Division IV Title game. The long legged prospect still growing averaged 15pts, 4rebs a game, while helping lead the small school in Stockton, CA. Williams Jr. has a good 3pt shot from well behind the line. He looks to shoot in transition and in half-court sets spotting up. He has good form, and a quick release. He has good hands, runs the court, and finishes well around the basket. He’s on theWright’s Watch List
