Continue ReadingThe 2023 class is loaded with talent and will be a class to keep an eye on as they enter their senior season. These standouts share a lot of similarities with their work ethic, physical style of play and the ability to make things happen. Let’s take a look at a few of the season standouts below:
Ty Owens – Centennial High School – Ty owens who is the player of the year for his class simply had an outstanding season. Ty averaged 17 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals per game. Ty is a gym rat who puts in a ton of work and it translated to a breakout season. Ty led his team to a District Championship and a solid 22-5 record. Ty is a consistent outside shooter finishing the season at 45% from beyond the arc and he was one of the best Free Throw shooters in the state shooting 84% from the stripe. Ty came up with huge performances all season long including a thriller against Martin County. Ty will be a name to monitor as he enters his senior season.
Joseph Lezeau – Centennial High School – Joseph had a monster season averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds per game while playing a huge part in his teams 22-5 season. Joseph who is 6’5 and growing is one of the most dominant players in the area with major upside. I like his overall style of play which is physical and aggressive. He uses his body well and knows how to draw contact while being a strong finisher at the rim. I believe Joseph has the chance to be a Top 5 overall player in the area next season.
Aidan Singleton Aidan Singleton 6'1" | PG John Carroll Catholic | 2023 FL – John Carroll Catholic High School – Aidan had a strong Junior season finishing with 13 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game. Aidan is lightning quick and can get to the rim with ease. He is a strong finisher who also uses his body well to get to the free throw line. Aidan played a big part in leading his team to one of their best seasons ever with a record of 22-5. Aidan is a dual sport athlete who will be looking to have a strong finish to his high school career this upcoming season. Aidan proved to be a matchup problem throughout the year for the opposing teams he faced. Aidan will look to keep his solid play going as he transitions to the travel season and the Prep Hoops Circuit.
Darious Moore Darious Moore 5'11" | PG Morningside | 2023 FL – Morningside Academy – DJ as he goes by had a strong Junior season averaging 13 points and 2 assists per game while shooting at a very high percentage from beyond the arc at 52%. DJ is the type of player that can get hot in a hurry and put up points quickly. He is one of the best shooters in the area and can knock down the open shot. He played a big role in leading Morningside to their first ever District title and finishing with a 20-4 record.
Cam Insalaco Cam Insalaco 6'2" | PG Martin County | 2023 FL – Martin County High School – Cam is a shifty guard who plays hard on both ends of the floor. Cam finished his season with 8 points per game 2 assist and 2 rebounds. Cam was a key player in the Tigers offense and a big reason they won their District championship against Rival Dwyer High School and went on to win their first State championship since 1979.
