Newton South (13-3)
I have seen the is team play multiple times this year. Newton South just keeps rising in the rankings. They just wrapped up the DCL regular season tittle with a win over Bedford. They have won 11 in a row, and have not lost in over a month. They have a lot of fire power on their team. Newton south has skilled and athletic guards, and versatile big man. They have one of the top guards in the DCL in Jake Lemelman Jake Lemelman 6'3" | CG MacDuffie | 2024 State NLG Jake is averaging over 20 points a game. He is a very high level three point shooter, and also can get to the basket and score at the rim. 6-6 forward Itai Alinsky. He is a strong forward with a versatile skill set. He can be a slasher out on the wing, and also be a force in the paint. He also is strong on the rebounds. Point Guard Jaiden Soberanis. Jaiden is a true point guard, who is pass first, and has a quick first step. Jaiden is also a lock down defender, and great at putting pressure on ball handler. Guard Ryan Hatem. Ryan is a strong guard, who is athletic, and can finish well at the rim, He can run the point, and also play off the ball. Forward Yoav Rabbi. Another Versatile big man. Yoav has guard skills, and also a good touch down low. Guard Itai Rotem. Itai has been a stock riser, and improving all season. Itai is skilled, and shoots well. Chase Wright. Chase is very athletic, and is very good on the boards. Other Notable key contributors are Omri Ayalon, Phillip Roberts, and Roberto Figuereo. Watch out for Newton South to make a run in the MIAA tournament.
Springfield Central
Springfield Central is always a high level program, and a threat to make a run in the state tournament, I have seen them play twice this season, and they have a lot of key contributors. Forward Joe Griffin. Joe is an above the rim player, and a paint protector. He is a super athletic, and strong player. He is a great shot blocker, and defender. He also has good finishing skills at the rim, and is strong the glass. Guard Davonte Colman. Davonte is a skilled guard, who can score, and be a facilitator. He also has three point range. Center Jayden Bass is a strong inside presence for the team. Point Guard William Watson. A pass first point guard, who is quick off the dribble. Josiah Griffin another athletic big. Senior Point Guard Deavin Reynolds. Deavin is a crafty guard, who shoots the ball well, and is good on both sides of the floor. Deavin is not the biggest player, but makes up for it with his skill set.
