Lakota Tech took care of business on its home court and came away with a big upset win over the #3 ranked team in South Dakota Class B. These two faced off back in December and the Sioux won by 10. After last night’s win, the Tatanka are 9-5 on the year. The Sioux have a 13-2 record. I recommend that you watch these teams before the end of the season. They play a fun and entertaining style of basketball. Good luck to the Tatanka and Sioux down the home stretch!

SIOUX
Brian LaRoche Jr Brian LaRoche Jr 6'0" | PG Lower Brule | 2023 State SD . (2023) |6-1 G|
12 points. He got a quick start with a fullcourt finish. When attacking the basket, LaRoche struck like a lightning bolt. This lefty is a 3-point savant with a smooth stroke. Brian was putting in lefty finger rolls in from all angles last night. I like this kid’s game.
Gavin Thigh Gavin Thigh 5'10" | PG Lower Brule | 2023 State SD (2023) |5-11 G|
19 points. This kid is a shooter and a talented scorer. He started the Sioux scoring with a 3-ball from the left-wing. Gavin is very skilled with the basketball in his hands. His handles are impressive and he threw a bullet 1-handed pass off the dribble. Gavin is a sniper from 3-point land, he hit many throughout the game. At one point in the second half, Thigh hit back-to-back triples. He also looked good scoring against the zone. He would catch, rip, and attack off the bounce. Much like his older brother, Gavin is a talented hoopster.
Keshaume Thigh Keshaume Thigh 6'3" | SG Lower Brule | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-2 G|
20 points. His jumper looks as pure as they come. Thigh scored from all over the court. I was impressed with the way Keshaume was attacking the defense and how he drew fouls to get to the FT-line. He showed his strength with an AND1 finish. Thigh looked good catching and shooting with a hand in his face. His mid-range jumper is one of the best that I have seen this year and his fade-away was a sight to be seen. Keshaume also scored around the basket. His highlight play might have been a crazy acrobatic bucket in transition. Thigh was as good as advertised.
Ellwyn Langdeau (2023) |6-2 G/F|
He showed off his speed with a cost-to-cost finish, Ellwyn simply beat everyone down the court. He looked impressive scoring at the rim. Langdeau is quick around the rim and a smooth finisher.
TATANKA
Marvin Richard Marvin Richard 6'0" | CG Pine Ridge | 2026 State SD (2026) |5-11 G|
20 points. Marvin made a tough running shot with a hand in his face. He forced TO’s and scored on the other end. Marvin had an impressive pull-up 3-pointer. He showed nice passing skills with a beautiful lob pass to an open teammate. Marvin had a great finish at the rim with an inside-hand finish. He was a stud last night in clutch situations. Marvin also hit shots from the charity stripe late in the game to put it on ice.
Triston Lebeau Triston Lebeau 6'5" | C Lakota Tech | 2022 State SD (2023) |6-6 C|
He is a big player with size and skill. LeBeau scored the first basket of the game. Triston had some nice passes in transition. He also had an acrobatic finish in transition. He is a fleet-footed BIG. LeBeau is a vacuum for rebounds. Triston scored with an O-board putback. Lebeau scored on the interior throughout the game and he was a timely playmaker.
Quincy Means Quincy Means 5'9" | PG Red Cloud | 2023 SD (2022) |5-11 G|
He stood out with a deep pull-up jumper from college range. Later in the game, Quincy smoked a 3-ball from the top of with key with a quality-looking high release. He showed his concentration and shot-making ability with a 15-foot jumper when the defense had a hand directly in his face.
Jordan Whirlwind Horse Jordan Whirlwind Horse 6'4" | SF Lakota Tech | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-4 G/F|
He runs the floor hard in transition and Jordan finishes smoothly. A player from the opposing team got a technical foul, and Jordan shot them, so he must be the most reliable FT-shooter on the team. He looks to have good form and knocked them down with confidence. Jordan also looked great with a 15-foot jump shot.
Jamiah Bianis (2023) |5-11 G/F|
10 points. I liked the looks of his corner 3-ball. Jamiah was effective at attacking the zone off the dribble, drawing contact, and getting to the line. Bianis was also knocking them down from the charity stripe. Bianis showed a good-looking runner as well.
Ethan Weasel Bear (2022) |6-0 F|
I liked the looks of his fancy finish at the basket with his inside hand. He had an impressive physical finish late in the 2nd half. Ethan had a HUGE layup late in the game to help seal the deal.
