There was tons of talent throughout the event, featuring some of the best available players in the area. Here’s a look at some of the standouts from the SC, NC and FL programs.
Valentino Simon | 6’6” F | Franklin Prep 2022
Franklin Prep went 1-1on the weekend, Simon was fantastic as he was one of the most productive players in attendance and did so showing a fantastic motor and good athleticism as well. The 6’6” hybrid forward may need some polishing moving forward but he runs the floor hard and is a very good finisher at the rim, he is a good defender who moves his feet and is strong enough to keep guys in front and he’s always around the ball and is a very good rebounder as well. He finished with 34 points in their loss to Miller and 19 points in their win over Bull City.
Tashaud Alexander | 6’2” WG | Bull City Prep 2022
While Bull City went 0-2 on the weekend, the group with only 6 players competed at a high level and Alexander was one of the best scorers on the weekend. The 6’2” guard showed he can create off the bounce and score it from all over the court, he’s a good finisher through contact and he plays with good toughness on both ends as well. He finished with 24 points in their loss to Hargrave and 20 points in their loss to Franklin Prep.
Simeon Smith | 6’1” PG | Bull City Prep 2022
Smith is another talented scoring guard for this Bull City team who did a little bit of everything on his way to being named Third Team of the event. The 6’1” Canadian was the primary ball handler and showed a lot of shift with a great handle, he was able to create space and get in the lane at will and he showed he can fill it up from deep as well. He finished with 26 points in their loss to
Quadir Copeland Quadir Copeland 6'5" | SG IMG Academy | 2022 FL | 6’6” PG | IMG 2022
Copeland has started to pick it up for IMG the past few weekends, looking to be more of a scorer to go along with his elite playmaking ability at his size. He’s very crafty off the bounce and is able to get in the lane where he can make plays for others or use his size to finish at the rim, he has improved in his shooting and has been more efficient as well. He finished with 19 points in their win over Legacy Prep.
AJ Storr AJ Storr 6'6" | SF IMG Academy post grad | 2022 State #119 Nation FL | 6’6” WF | IMG 2022
Storr has been the most consistent player for IMG this season, as the St. John’s commit continues to show he’s a walking bucket who can fill it up in bunches. He has good size on the wing and is an athletic finisher around the rim, he can make shots from deep off the catch and off the bounce and he plays with a good motor and toughness on both ends of the floor. He finished with 29 points in their loss to FUMA and 25 in their win over Legacy.
