20. 6’10 SF Jonathan Beagle Jonathan Beagle 6'10" | SF St Thomas More | 2022 State NY – St. Thomas More
After a summer playing EYBL, Jonathan Beagle Jonathan Beagle 6'10" | SF St Thomas More | 2022 State NY , a current University of Albany commit, has been playing lights out at St Thomas More. Beagle can knock down the three-ball as a 6’10 swingman, but his motor and willingness to play down low with anyone are impressive. He has a wide variety of post moves and finishes around the rim. Beagle has become a defensive anchor around the rim, blocking and altering shots every game.
21. 6’2 PG James Mathews James Mathews 6'2" | PG University Prep | 2023 NY – University Prep
Mathews stock has been rising steadily since last spring. Growing a couple of inches over the high school season has helped Mathews, facing box & one’s, and faceguards all year. A knockdown shooter with extended change, either the first or second-best perimeter defender in upstate, with the ability to get to the rim at ease James Mathews James Mathews 6'2" | PG University Prep | 2023 NY worked his way into a Top 25 spot in the state.
22. 6’0 PG Justin Glover Justin Glover 5'10" | PG St. Joseph's Collegiate | 2022 State NY – St. Joseph Collegiate
Recently eclipsing 1000 points, Justin Glover Justin Glover 5'10" | PG St. Joseph's Collegiate | 2022 State NY ’s name has been around upstate NY for quite some time. Being a bit undersized this year, I have seen Glover reinvent himself into one of the best passers in the area. Still, with an unguardable first step and the ability to finish through traffic whenever he likes, Glover’s ability to find open shooters after drawing the defense into help has made him a very intriguing prospect for colleges in the area. Glover is also one of two players I would crown as best perimeter defenders in upstate NY with a knack for cutting guys off and picking pockets on the perimeter.
31. 6’3 SG Jacob Works Jacob Works 6'3" | SG Liverpool | 2022 State NY – Liverpool
My first time seeing Jacob Works Jacob Works 6'3" | SG Liverpool | 2022 State NY was three years ago at a game against then state-ranked McQuaid Jesuit, and as a sophomore, he scored 37 points. Recently eclipsing 1000 points, Works has not slowed down, with what might be the highest motor in all of upstate NY Works is relentless in every aspect of the game. You name it, offensive, defensive, rebounding, loose balls, and Works is outworking everyone on the floor to be the best. Works will be a stud at the next level with a quick burst with the ball in his hands and a college-ready body.
32. 6’7 SF Jackson Kulik Jackson Kulik 6'7" | SF Webster Thomas | 2022 State NY – Webster Thomas
A great offensive player at all three levels can score at will at any level. Recently committing to division 2 Daemon out of Buffalo, Jackson Kulik Jackson Kulik 6'7" | SF Webster Thomas | 2022 State NY is a steal and should contribute right away at that level. With his excellent shooting ability from three and a quick first step, Kulik makes defenders guard up and then blows them to the basket. What surprised me was the athletism around the rim. Kulik gets up and isn’t afraid to dunk on anyone at the rim. A developing defender on the perimeter but protects the rim well at the high school level.
