Prospects across the state have been putting up big numbers, including underrated prospects who have broken onto the scene. Here are underrated prospects who have broken out this season.
Kamal Lee Kamal Lee 6'0" | PG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG St. Thomas Aquinas 2023
Lee has made an instant impact for the Trojans as he makes plays on both sides of the ball. The Roselle Catholic transfer has a quick first step and is a blur in the open floor. Lee is a good finisher around the basket and has a nice release on his jumper. He is a pesky on-ball defender and does not force the issue in the half court. Lee is a two-way floor general who knows how to get deflections on the defensive end.
Elijah Lewis Elijah Lewis 6'3" | CG Watchung Hills | 2022 State NJ , 6’3 CG Watchung Hills 2022
Lewis has been playing at a high level for Watchung Hills all season, including a 39-point performance against Gill St. Bernard’s in his last game. The 6’3 guard attacks the basket with a purpose and finishes strong above the rim. Lewis is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and knock down open jumpers from distance. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Lewis is a scoring guard prospect who should continue to put up big numbers as the season progresses.
Jordan Summers Jordan Summers 6'7" | PF Bound Brook | 2023 State NJ , 6’6 PF Bound Brook 2023
Summers has been a load down low for the Crusaders as teams have had little answers for him in the post. The 6’6 forward has a nice touch around the basket and plays with good footwork in the paint. Summers is an underrated passer out of the post and is capable of hitting open jumpers from behind the arc. He is a force on the glass at both ends of the floor and uses his size and athleticism to alter shots around the basket. Summers has been dominant throughout the season and should continue to his strong play for Bound Brook in 2022.
Billy Anderson Billy Anderson 6'7" | PF Colonia | 2022 State NJ , 6’7 PF Colonia 2022
Anderson has been the go-to big guy down low for the Patriots as he has been very consistent throughout the year. The 6’7 forward has a physical frame, which he uses to create space down low and finish around the basket. Anderson can also put the ball on the floor and has a nice release on his jumper. He is a strong rebounder and is a solid passer. Anderson has been a key player for Colonia throughout the season and should continue to do so as 2022 rolls on.
Aidan Anderson Aidan Anderson 6'2" | SG Lenape | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 SG Lenape 2022
Anderson has had a major breakout this season as he has fit in perfectly with Rutgers signee Derek Simpson Derek Simpson 6'3" | PG Lenape | 2022 State NJ in the back court. The 6’2 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and is unafraid of drawing contact. Anderson can also score in the mid-range and rarely makes mistakes with the ball in his hands. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Anderson is a gritty guard prospect who should continue to put up big numbers for Lenape as the season moves along.
