Boonville Storms Back
What a thriller of a game this one was. After being down 21 pts toward the end of the 3Q, the Boonville Pioneers scored 35 pts in the 4Q to take the Princeton Tigers to OT and beat them 68-62. This might have been the most exciting game of the night. Pretty balanced scoring from Boonville overall with Jake Fuller leading with 24 pts with Dominic Sharp adding 16 pts, Clay Comer with 14 pts, and Cooper Aigner with 11 pts. This was a tough loss for Princeton as they now drop to just 3-11 overall. Boonville, on the other hand, are now at 6-7 after winning their last 2 games. Up next for the Pioneers, they travel to Evansville Memorial on 1/29.
Haffner and Almodovar Trade Bucket After Bucket
This was the first full game we had seen Westfield play since Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'2" | PG Woodlan | 2024 State IN went out with his injury. However, the Shamrocks did not show any signs of struggle as they handled a very talented Noblesville team 69-52. The best part about this game was the intense battle between SGs Cameron Haffner Cameron Haffner 6'3" | SG Westfield | 2022 State IN and Luke Almodovar Luke Almodovar 6'2" | SG Noblesville | 2023 State IN as they both started the game hot and finished hot. Both were lighting it up from deep and the defense on both ends just had no answers for them. Almodovar finished with 25 pts and Haffner finished with an unofficial 32 pts. Westfield moves up to 12-4 while Noblesville drops to 7-7.
Franklin Central Upsets Pike
Here is an upset I don’t think a ton of people saw coming. Last night, in a close battle throughout, the Franklin Central Flashers beat the highly talented Pike on the road 79-78. Ever since the Perry Meridian win, the Pike Red Devils have been inconsistent going 2-3 in their last 5 games. The Flashers, even though they have one of the best 2024’s in the state Lyna Brooks Lyna Brooks 6'3" | CG Saginaw Arthur Hill | 2024 State MI , have struggled mostly all season long with only winning 5 of 13 games so far. Franklin Central will look to keep the momentum going up next when they face Fishers at home on 1/28. Ryan Conwell Ryan Conwell 6'2" | SG Pike | 2022 State #155 Nation IN and Pike have Zionsville on 1/29.
