Mishawaka Marian @ Cathedral
This may be the most intriguing game of the night simply because it pits two teams together that normally wouldn’t play each other. Mishawaka Marian is ranked #2 in our Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A rankings while Cathedral is #7 in the 4A poll. Deaglan Sullivan Deaglan Sullivan 6'2" | PG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State IN and Richard Brooks Richard Brooks 6'3" | SF Mishawaka Marian | 2022 State IN make up a dynamic backcourt for the Knights averaging 16.2 and 14 points per game. Will it be enough to keep up with the Irish? Tayshawn Comer Tayshawn Comer 6'0" | PG Cathedral | 2022 State #226 Nation IN leads the way for Cathedral with 17.6 points and 5.4 assists.
Mount Vernon (Fortville) @ Westfield
Both of these teams are coming off of their biggest victories of the year. Mount Vernon just beat Zionsville, who was undefeated and ranked #1 at the time, on a buzzer-beater. Likewise, Westfield knocked off Connersville and Cathedral to win the Hall of Fame Classic. Mr. Basketball candidate Braden Smith Braden Smith 6'0" | PG Westfield | 2022 State IN , a Purdue signee, is averaging 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for Westfield. The Marauders certainly deserve more statewide attention and probably have earned it now after beating Zionsville. Armon Jarrard Armon Jarrard 6'2" | PG Mt. Vernon-Fortville | 2022 State IN and Amhad Jarrard Amhad Jarrard 6'4" | SG Mt. Vernon-Fortville | 2022 State IN , both future IUPUI Jaguars, average 15.9 and 15.6 points per game respectively.
Crispus Attucks @ Lawrence North
Despite the return of Mr. Basketball candidate Chris Gunn Chris Gunn 6'5" | SG Lawrence North | 2022 State #114 Nation IN , an Indiana University signee, Lawrence North fell to Indianapolis Tindley 88-79 last week. Gunn had 34 points in the loss. They will look to get back on track tonight as they host Crispus Attucks. The Tigers have lost five of their last six games but are without a doubt one of the most dangerous under .500 teams in the state. Senior guard Christian Nunn Christian Nunn 6'3" | SF L'anse Creuse North | 2022 State IN continues to have a great senior season for Attucks averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds per game.
Lafayette Jefferson @ Fishers
Lafayette Jefferson is an under-the-radar 9-1 so far this season that will have a chance to capture some statewide attention tonight at Fishers. Senior forward Javan Buchanan Javan Buchanan 6'6" | PF Lafayette Jefferson | 2022 State IN is averaging 19.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for the Broncos. Fishers, who is up to #2 in our Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A rankings, has put together one of the best resumes in the state with their 11-1 record. Jeffrey Simmons Jeffrey Simmons 6'7" | PF Fishers | 2022 State IN and freshman Jalen Haralson Jalen Haralson 6'7" | PG La Lumiere | 2025 #8 Nation IN pace the Tigers with 17.6 and 17.1 points per game.
Noblesville @ Pike
Pike continues to fly under-the-radar this season as a sneaky good team in the Indianapolis area. The Red Devils are 5-1 and have won four straight since their three point loss to Ben Davis. With Ryan Conwell Ryan Conwell 6'2" | SG Pike | 2022 State #155 Nation IN leading the charge, Pike will have a chance every time they step on the floor. The South Florida signee is averaging 23.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. Noblesville is starting to play their best basketball of the year as winners of three out of four to get back to .500. They are led by senior guard E.J. Smith E.J. Smith 6'1" | PG Noblesville | 2022 State IN with 17.8 points per game.
