Farmington vs. Layton
Farmington survived a flurry of points in the 4th quarter by Layton as they pulled out a 3 point win. Sophomore KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT was great in the game. He really stepped up in this game. KJ had 24 points and 4 three-pointers and he really looked mature in this game. Look for more of this style of play from KJ. On the other side of the ball Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT was doing what Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT does and that is hit big shots and hit some tough ones with defenders on him. 24 points and at times some tough shots were made to look easy. Class of 2022 G Devin Day Devin Day 6'3" | SG Farmington | 2022 State UT was huge for Farmington as the prospect was able to get going and hit double figures.
Weber vs. Fremont
Fremont started the year off hot and Weber was trying to get it’s basketball legs under them as they had a deep football run. Weber edged Fremont in a really good game. this time Weber really had some players step up. Cannon Devries Cannon Devries 6'0" | PG Weber | 2022 State UT was his usual self as he was all over the floor and Hunter Schenck Hunter Schenck 6'2" | PG Weber | 2024 State UT was hitting from deep and being patient but the emerging Stockton Shorts came up big with 19 points and 6 three-pointers. The 6’3 G in that 2022 class was huge in this win.
Highland vs. Skyline
Every once in awhile there are some games that can be shockers and this one was one of them. Highland was able to sneak up on Skyline who is having a great year. Class of 2023 Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT continues to have a great year and he has that next level game. Highland was able to get some major contribution from some names we haven’t talked about in awhile. 6’2 G Elijah Tolbert Elijah Tolbert 6'2" | PG Highland | 2022 State UT had himself a game as he hit some big three-pointers to lead Highland in scoring. Elijah played football this year and it could be that he is starting to get healthy and feel more comfortable on the basketball court now. 6’6 Hyrum McConkie was great as well. The big was able to use his size and skill at the SF position. This really makes a team like highland interesting and Skyline will be back, just a bump in the road.
6’5 SG Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State #310 Nation UT || Olympus High School || 2024 ||
Dutch continues his terrific play as he lit it up again last night dropping 23 points and hitting more than a few last night. Dutch is on pace to score 500 points this season. He is proving that he is a Division SG. Teams need to come in and give him a look.
6’5 G James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT || Timpview High School || 2023 ||
Welcome back James as he has been sitting out with an injury and he came through having a solid game inside and out. Really like his pace and how he lets the game develop. Nice mid-range and smooth stroke outside as well. James is another prospect that has D1 game.
6’8 W Jaxon Heiden Jaxon Heiden 6'9" | PF Alta | 2022 State UT || Alta High School || 2022 ||
If you are looking for a stretch 4/3 who can defend you need to put your offers in now before Jaxon starts to blow-up. The kid has a true inside outside game and he is scoring and passing the ball in elite fashion.
