New Names Stepping Up
Immanuel Campbell, 6’4 F, Bishop Ward, 2023: Capped off a solid opening round win for Ward against Seabury finishing a tough bucket in the paint as time nearly expired. Finished off a nice dump down pass from guard Jeremyah Greer. Campbell has solid size and length and is efficient scoring the ball at 57% from the field per game. Has great hands and touch and will be a name to keep tabs on. Averaging 9 points and 7 rebounds per game on the season.
Lawson Bailey, 6’ G, Scott City, 2023: The Scott City guard has averaged 7 points, 2.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game on the year, however, when Scott City needed a big moment from a solid role player, Bailey was there for the call. Dropped a career high 18 points in a tournament game win over Lyons while knocking down 3 threes in the process. Plays with a ton of energy on the floor and has a solid all around guard skill set.
Cade Crawford, 6’3 G, Lyons, 2022: The strong athletic guard played well against a fired up Scott City in their matchup and scored 12 points to keep his club around. Crawford is tough off the bounce when attacking the rim, defends well, and ca knock down perimeter shots as he showed a little bit of everything last night.
Seth Cooksey, 6’1 G, Perry Lecompton, 2022: The senior guard has been rock solid this season and has elevated his play in big games already. In Perry’s two games of their tournament so far he has played with emotion, and great leadership. Knocks down tough shots off the catch, defends with intensity, and can mix it up and rebound. Has outputs of 14 points and 9 points in their two tournament games this week.
Marshall Johnson, 6’1 G, Ell Saline, 2024: One of the under the radar top tier shooters in the class of 2024 this season. Has multiple 20 pint outings so far and has been drilling the long ball at a high clip. This week for tourney week Johnson decided to really light up the gym knocking down 8 threes in a single game and dropping 29 points in the process.
Carter Sinclair, 6’4 F, Wichita Classical, 2023: The junior forward is a versatile player with great size and athleticism, putting it to good use all year averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game. During tourney week, Sinclair was also a player who elevated his game scoring 28 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for his team. Sinclair is a rebounding machine on both ends and gets a ton of put backs.
Gunnar Ball, 6’2 G, Perry Lecompton, 2023: One of the better rebounding guards you will find, Ball plays with tenacity and is really strong on the basketball floor. He is having a really strong tournament week for Perry and in their two wins has 22 points and 16 rebounds, and 15 points respectively. Is an all around tough guard to either defend, score on, or keep from rebounding the ball.
Big Shot of the Night
Ryle Riddlesperger Ryle Riddlesperger 6'2" | PG Hugoton | 2023 State KS , 6’2 G, Hugoton, 2023: The competitive sharpshooter showed his moxie last night in Hugoton’s dramatic tournament round 1 win drilling a game winning corner three ball off an inbound pass pure through the net as time expired from a nice pass from 2024 guard Emmett Gaskill. Riddlesberger continues to come on strong as the season goes on averaging around 13 points per game as well and shooting the 3 ball at a solid clip.
