6’5 Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State #310 Nation UT || Olympus High School || 2024 ||
When we saw Dutch coming up as an 8th grader we immediately knew he was going to be an impact player. As a freshman he played some JV but also suited up on a varsity team that was loaded with guards. Now as a sophomore there is nobody that cann take his minutes away as he is just essential out there lighting it up from deep. He has impressed with the way he can hit those long balls. On a pump-fake and dribble move and shoot. He can hit them in transition off the dribble. He floats out in the perimeter as he gets the ball in his sweet spot. Catch and shoot he is deadly. When he is on he will hit 7+ easy. I think if the team wanted and the coach allowed it he would break the state record for most three’s made in a game.
5’10 Diego Mulford Diego Mulford 5'10" | PG American Fork | 2024 State UT || Cyprus High School || 2024 ||
Diego is one of the hardest working guys on the floor to get a shot off. Defending him is a nightmare because he moves so much. He is constantly putting himself in the view of the player with the ball so he could get a quick shot off. His mid-range game has been emerging but his range has really increased. Diego is one of the best shooters in the state. Doesn’t miss very often when he has time to line one up.
6’6 Dylan Jones Dylan Jones 6'6" | SG Westlake | 2022 State UT || Westlake High School || 2022 ||
Dylan Jones Dylan Jones 6'6" | SG Westlake | 2022 State UT has a strap and he is not shy to let them fly. Dylan has always been deadly from the corner and everyone knows that. The impressive thing about his shooting is that he is using it to develop the rest of his game and craft. He is attacking the rim and he is actually finishing above the rim on his attacks. Dylan can shoot the ball form anywhere and he gets his feet set quickly and he squares up nicely. One of the best positional shooters with size out in the Mountain West.
6’1 Kaden Cox Kaden Cox 6'0" | SG Ridgeline | 2022 State UT || Ridgeline High School || 2022 ||
The most impressive part about Kaden’s shooting is that he is a big time football player that needs to play catchup on the basketball floor once football is over. Then when he is out there lighting it up he is shooting at a high percentage. High quality shooter that isn’t a volume shooter. Kaden has a a chance to get to the 1,000 point mark and if he increases his volume at the percentage he is shooting he should get there. Will likely play D1 QB at the next level but do not be afraid to offer this kid as he can handle the ball as well.
5’11 Colby Simms Colby Simms 5'11" | PG Davis | 2022 State UT || Davis High School || 2022 ||
The rumor around the state is that if you can’t shoot you cant play at Davis. Whether it is true or not, those Davis Boys can shoot and Colby Simms Colby Simms 5'11" | PG Davis | 2022 State UT is one of the best at it. There are two things that will likely happen when Davis plays. One, they will probably find a way to win. Two, Colby Simms Colby Simms 5'11" | PG Davis | 2022 State UT will hit a three-pointers. Very rare that these two things won’t happen. Small schools looking for a player that can play PG and shoot, Colby has the goods.
