Chase Cain Chase Cain 6'7" | PF Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX 6’6 2023 Shadow Creek High School
Chase is an incredibly lanky and long athlete whose size seemed to fill up the paint and affect opponents on both sides of the floor. He moves very well for his size and showed a real ability to stay in front of quicker guards and hold his own against larger forwards looking to bang down low. He came out and blocked jump shots and turned away shots down low with ease. He ran the floor well and dove without the ball to give his guards an open target to fire passes in down low, which he turned into easy bunny hooks over pretty much anyone. He needs more post moves besides his simple hooks, but he has time and when he does, he will begin to dominate on both sides of the floor. I also believe he needs to focus on the outside in aspect to his game, and work on his pull up jumper as well as his handle and ability to get to the rim.
Ronyo Obou 2023 Fort Bend Bush
Ronyo is a sharp shooting combo guard who thrives at getting to his shot off the dribble. He is a confident one on one player who seems to be able to get his shot over anyone. I was also really impressed with his willingness to take whatever the defense gave him, if they sagged off he shot over them, if they pressured him up top he gave them a head fake and went downhill. Obou is a very intelligent player who reads the game well on both ends of the floor. He has all the tools to become a skilled combo guard at the next level if he continues to work and put on a bit more weight.
Keanu Dawes Keanu Dawes 6'8" | SF Stratford | 2023 State #186 Nation TX 6’8 2023 Forward Stratford High School
Keanu is a supremely athletic big man who is a paint beast. His ability to dominate coming downhill full speed really put pressure on the defense and made defenders hesitant to jump with him. I really loved watching him operate in the mid post and taking one to two power dribbles and getting to his spot at the rim. The big man has the ability to dunk everything and really seems to provide a spark with his energy and athleticism on both ends of the floor. I was really impressed with his touch in the midrange and the touch he is able to put on full court outlet passes to jump start a fast break. Dawes is beginning to see some major attention from some high level programs, including Tennessee, Texas A&M and TCU Universities.
Blake Washington 2023 Westfield High School
Blake is a sharp shooting wing with great size to pair with his smooth shooting stroke. He punished teams from beyond the arc all tournament, and was a real weapon when acting as the trailer in transition. His ability to quickly get his feet set underneath allows him to quickly rise up for a jumper as soon as he catches the ball. I would like to see continued development with his shot off the bounce, and work to get into the midrange more, and attack downhill. Washington is a prospect to keep you eye on, someone at the next level will value that kind of shooting prowess.
Chandler Williams Chandler Williams 6'6" | SF Klein Forest | 2023 State TX 6’5 2023 Wing Klein Forest High School
Chandler is a long and strong athlete that has a soft and fluid motion to his game. When you look at him you can tell he is a dual sport athlete for Klein Forest, he possesses great size and side to side agility that allows him to be a complete weapon on the floor. He has a great touch from beyond the arc and is even confident enough to set himself up for shots off the dribble. He is very reliable when acting as a spot up shooter and has the ability to punish the defense at all three levels if they are late at coming out to contest him. He is great at utilizing his shot fake and getting his defender on the back of his hip and flying by them toward the rim. Watch for Williams to have a massive start in district play this year!
