Three Up
Edina (7-4). The Hornets have responded from a rough holiday tournament to win three games in a row. They’ve defeated Bloomington Jefferson, Champlin Park, and Minnepolis North for a three game winning streak. Brady Helgren Brady Helgren 6'8" | C Edina | 2022 State MN has played a big part with 38 points and 20 boards against CP, 26 points and 13 boards versus Jefferson, and 25 points and 11 boards versus Minneapolis North.
Tartan (6-1). The Titans of Tartan just keep rolling. They are that consistent, dependable program that simply wins no matter how stacked or not stacked their roster is. The Titans beat Simley this weekend handing the Spartans their second loss and keeping Tartan on the heels of SSP in the league race.
Coon Rapids (8-3). Scoring 82 points a game, it’s the Coon Rapids Cardinals! Beating Champlin Park and ranked Spring Lake Park this week, it’s Cards! Contending for the 7AAAA spot, you have CR! . This is a balanced team with five, yes FIVE players averaging in double figures. MJ Galimah MJ Galimah 6'2" | SG Coon Rapids | 2022 State MN and Elijah Smith lead the way but 6’7 senior Markieth Deng and sophomore guard Khi-Johnn Cummings-Coleman have been just as valuable.
Three Down
Spring Lake Park (5-5). Things can slip quickly. Health took away three starters for SLP when they were 4-1 which led to losses to Sartell and Tonka but then, the Panthers lost to Totino-Grace getting out-scored by ten in overtime. They lost that game and have since lost to Osseo and Coon Rapids as well evening out their record.
Robbinsdale Armstrong (5-5). Armstrong is in the same situation as SLP. The tough schedule got really stiff and the Falcons lost games to Andover, Park Center, and Totino-Grace by double digits. Now, Park Center and TG are number one ranked teams so it was expected but this team needs a bounce back tonight against Osseo.
Duluth East (5-6). We previously mentioned the Greyhounds hot start but they have lost four games in a row. Games were tough and they were short some numbers but what makes it tougher is that their next couple games are against Park Center and Brainerd. Tough part of the season but this team has the talent to bounce back just like the other two on the list. .
