We’ll look at five players from each area and position that coaches at all levels looking for a player should keep an eye out for. Here’s five 2022 wings in the Richmond area of Virginia that need more love.
James Patterson James Patterson 6'5" | SG Carmel School | 2022 State VA | 6’5” | Church Hill Academy
Patterson is one of the most intriguing long term prospects in RVA, as he has great positional size, he’s a big time athlete and he produces on both ends of the floor consistently. He’s strong and uses his strength on both ends of the floor, he can stick it from deep and in the midrange and he’s a big time finisher and a good rebounder at the rim too.
Davien Banks Davien Banks 6'2" | SG LC Bird | 2022 State VA | 6’2” | LC Bird
Banks has been playing very well for a Bird team that looks to be contenders in the state championship this year, and the way he’s stepped it up defensively makes him a good 3 and d option at the next level. He moves his feet well defensively and has good hands and jumps passing lanes in the press, he’s a good shooter from deep when he gets set and he’s a capable secondary ball handler with good feel too.
Jaden Daughtry Jaden Daughtry 6'6" | SF Benedictine College Prep | 2022 VA | 6’6” | Benedictine
Daughtry has been putting up huge numbers all year long for the Cadets, and the 6’6” wing provides a lot of production and versatility in a number of ways. He’s very strong and that allows him to attack the basket and finish through contact, he’s become a more consistent shooter from deep both off the catch and off the bounce and he attacks the glass and rebounds well on both ends of the floor.
Kashawn Cordes Kashawn Cordes 6'4" | SF Hermitage | 2022 State VA | 6’3” | John Marshall
Cordes is a player who has improved a lot over the past few years, and he’s now one of the top two way players in the Richmond area. He’s long and active on the defensive end, he’s improved a lot and has become a consistent threat from deep and he’s surprisingly shifty off the bounce allowing him to create shots for himself and others.
Curtis Allen Curtis Allen 6'2" | SF Prince George | 2022 State VA | 6’3” | Prince George
Allen has been one of the most underrated players in the Richmond area for years now, and he’s showing it his senior year as he’s putting up huge numbers consistently for the Royals. He’s strong with a good frame that he’s improved over the years making him more explosive and athletic finishing at the rim, he’s an excellent shooter from deep with good range and when he gets it going he’s very difficult to stop.
