During this mid-season tournament from December 27-29, 2021 there were many D1, D2, and D3 coaches in the building for this A-Level tournament. There were powerhouse teams from Arizona, DC/MD/VA, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Here were some of the standout players in the class of 2022.
Sadiku Ibine Ayo-F-2022-Our Savior Lutheran School
Sadiku is a 6’7, 210 pound wing who is long, athletic, and can score the basketball. He can score in the mid range or outside the perimeter. His ball handling ability allows him to play the 1-3 position. Defensively, he rebounds the ball and has a will to win demeanor. Sadiku will be a nice fit for many D1 and D2 programs.
Rob Lawson-G-2022-National Christian Academy
Rob is a 5’11, 180 pound floor general with a high IQ. He plays under control and has good vision. Offensively, he uses the pick and roll well and reads what the defense is presenting to him. He has improved on his mid-range pull-up shot and ball handling. He can also finish in traffic. Defensively, he can guard 1-2’s and does a great job staying in front of his opponent. He can contribute in D2 programs and some D1.
Jamarques Lawrence-G-2022-Roselle Catholic High School
Jamarques is a 6’3, 195 pound combo guard who can fill the stat sheet. Defensively, he has good arm length, he moves his feet, and he anticipates well. He can be used as a shut down defender. On the offensive side, he plays under control, and he can get to his midrange spots. Good catch and shooter player. Should be receiving D2-D1 offers.
Lamar Washington-G-2022-Arizona Compass Prep School
Lamar is a 6’4, 195 pound left handed guard who is strong, understands the game, and doesn’t turn the ball over. He can be used as a primary or off the ball guard. Lamar has really improved on his 3 point shooting. Finishing above the rim has never been a problem. Defensively, he is versatile and can guard 1-3’s. Definitely D1 and D2 offers on the table.
Jameel Brown Jameel Brown 6'4" | SG Westtown School | 2022 State #180 Nation PA -G-2022-Westown School
Jameel is a 6’5, 205 pound solid combo guard. He can create and make long distant shots. Does a great job keeping his composure when under pressure. Ball handling is good enough to get him from point A to point B. Defensively, he has strength and arm length that allows him to defend 1-3’s.
Adrame Diongue-C-2022-Arizona Compass Prep School
Adrame is a 7’0, 200 pound center who likes to compete. He will defend anyone you ask him to defend. He is long, athletic, versatile. He can catch the ball and finish on fast breaks. He can improve in upper body strength and perimeter shooting, but overall still a player with good upside. He can contribute on D1 and D2 rosters
Dereck Lively-C-2022-Westtown School
Dereck is a 7’2, 210 pound center who draws a lot of attention when he steps on the floor. He has good ball handling skills for his size and he runs the floor well. Basketball intelligence is there. I would like to see him demand the ball a little more in the half court set. He should touch the ball every time down the floor. On the defensive side, he can move his feet and is a rim protector. Currently receiving multiple D1 offers.
