CHOCTAW 75, SHAWNEE 50
Choctaw would get a first round win on Thursday morning, beating the hosts 75-50. The Yellowjackets actually trailed the Wolves after the first quarter but would outscore Shawnee 40-22 in the second and third quarter to put the game away going into the final frame. Choctaw had three players finish in double figures as sophomore guard Ja’Mon Valentine Ja’Mon Valentine 6'2" | CG Choctaw | 2024 State OK led the way with 18 points. With the win, the Yellowjackets will move on to the semifinals on Friday to face the winner of Mustang and Santa Fe South.

came in at #6. He showcased why he’s one of the best sophomores in the state, having a complete game from start to finish on Thursday. He finished with a team-high 18 points and was incredibly active on defense, forcing several turnovers throughout the game. Valentine showcased incredible range on his shot, nice touch on his floater and absolutely no fear leading this Choctaw offense. We already knew it coming into this tournament but Valentine will certainly be one to watch over the next few seasons.

was the game’s leading scorer as he dropped 20 points in the loss to the Yellowjackets. Morris’ first basket came early on as he knocked down a 3-pointer and with that shot, he reached the 1,000 point mark for his career. Morris wasn’t done there as he would go on to finish with a game-high 20 points and was certainly the bright spot in Shawnee’s loss on Thursday.
MUSTANG 72, SANTA FE SOUTH 45
It was a bit of a slow start for one of the top teams in Class 6A but #2 Mustang was able to run away with a 72-45 win over Santa Fe South on Thursday afternoon. The win puts them in the semifinals against Choctaw. After leading 13-8 after one quarter and then 30-21, the Broncos started opening it up in the second half and put Santa Fe South away for good. The Broncos were balanced throughout the game with four players in double figures and a couple others near the double digit mark.

has widely been considered one of the state’s best shooters for the majority of the last few years. He finished Thursday’s game with 12 points, scoring all of his points exclusively from beyond the arc. When Scott starts heating up from behind the 3-point line, the Broncos are going to be tough to beat. Santa Fe South did all they could to keep Scott in check and considering he can easily go off for 20 or 30 plus points, holding him to 12 has to be considered a win.

– 2023 Guard – Mustang
Mustang’s junior two-sport star was somewhat like his team on Thursday as he got off to a slow start. In fact, he came off the bench and did not play in the first quarter. But once he got in, you could tell that this Mustang team had much more energy, especially on the defensive side of the ball. As someone who has seen Johnson on the court and the gridiron, his future looks best in football but he is still so fun to watch on the court. He’s not a small guard by any means and yet he is lightning quick with the ball in his hands.
BROKEN ARROW 101, MOORE JV 48
We knew this game was going to get out of hand sooner or later and that’s what we ended up seeing as Broken Arrow advanced to Friday’s semifinal round with a 101-48 victory over Moore’s JV squad. As expected, it was an easy win for the Tigers, who are one of the best teams in Class 6A and they were going up against a JV squad. So needless to say, we won’t have much analysis of this game other than our “Top Performer” spotlight below and to say that BA advances to the semifinals to face the winner of El Reno and Southeast.

was going to be able to name his final point total. And Allen would go off for 40 points, with the majority of those buckets coming in the paint and at the rim. Allen has established himself as one of the more athletic guards in Oklahoma’s senior class and he showed off the leaping ability several times with some rim-rattling dunks. Allen would hit the 40-point mark in the third quarter and would sit for the rest of the game.
