Chesterton (11-0)
The Trojans are up to #4 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A rankings this week after their perfect 11-0 start to the senior. Senior point guard Travis Grayson Travis Grayson 5'10" | PG Chesterton | 2022 State IN has made a push for Indiana All-Star consideration with his strong play averaging 19.2 points and 6.3 assists per game. Their next big test will be at Crown Point on January 21st.
John Glenn (11-0)
John Glenn continues to roll through their schedule with an 11-0 record and is now ranked #5 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A poll. Led by coach’s son Brycen Hannah, a 6’5″ junior forward, who averages 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. The Falcones are at South Bend St. Joseph on Friday night and then host Mishawaka Marian on Tuesday the 25th. They have a tough schedule the rest of the way.
Bishop Chatard (11-0)
Under first year head coach Ken Roseman, the Trojans have been one of the pleasant surprises in Class 3A. Now ranked #7 by Prep Hoops Indiana, Chatard will begin the Indianapolis City Tournament next Tuesday. A potential second round matchup with Crispus Attucks would be one of their toughest tests of the season so far. Senior point guard A.J. Roseman A.J. Roseman 6'0" | PG Bishop Chatard | 2022 State IN leads the Trojans with 16.1 points per game.
Peru (11-0)
A third undefeated team in Class 3A, Peru comes in at #8 in the Prep Hoops Indiana polls this week. Led by senior forward Matthew Ross Matthew Ross 6'4" | SF Peru | 2022 State IN with 19.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, the Tigers have yet to be knocked off. A matchup against Warsaw next Saturday will present a major test for them.
Central Noble (13-0)
Led by Wisconsin signee and Mr. Basketball candidate Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN , Central Noble has cruised through the first 13 games of their season. The Cougars are second in the state in scoring margin at 24.62 points per game. They will face off with fellow unbeaten Eastside on January 21st and have a date with Class 4A Fort Wayne South later in the year as well. However, this is a team with the chops to run the table the rest of the way.
Monroe Central (10-0)
The Golden Bears burst onto the scene by beating Connersville and Bloomington North on the same day to win the Connersville Tournament just before Christmas. They have a tough matchup with Eastern Hancock coming up on January 21st along with games against Wapahani and undefeated Bishop Chatard later on. Taylor University commit Jackson Ullom Jackson Ullom 5'11" | PG Monroe Central | 2022 State IN averages 17.8 points per game for Monroe Central.
Carroll (Flora) (9-0)
Ranked #4 in Class 2A in the Prep Hoops Indiana polls, the Cougars have run the table in impressive fashion so far. They will play 12-1 Clinton Prairie tomorrow night in what could be their toughest test of the season until playing Western in late February.
Eastside (13-0)
This group has been really fun to follow this season. In his first season at Eastside, head coach Ed Bentley has the Blazers off to a perfect 13-0 start. They will have a huge challenge on January 21st as they face off with Class 2A #1 Central Noble who is also undefeated currently. The will be one to circle on your calendar.
Lake Station (9-0)
Lake Station is getting huge production from their talented junior class to jump out to a 9-0 record. Romeo Guerra leads the way with 17.1 points per game while classmates Willie Miller Willie Miller 6'2" | PG Lake Station | 2023 State IN and Adam Eastland Adam Eastland 6'2" | PG Edison Jr Sr | 2023 IN average 15.9 and 14.1 respectively. The Fighting Eagles do not have a senior on their roster so they are poised to run it back next season as well. The back end of the schedule starts to get tougher with a trip to Munster and a game with Portage coming in February.
