The event features teams from Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Georgia and Massachusetts, and has a host of nationally ranked players as well as underrated guys who will get a chance to prove themselves.
We will preview the event in a number of ways, including some of the committed players, available 2022 prospects and some of the top 2023 prospects in the event.
Here’s a look at part one of the available 2022 players from Virginia.
You can watch the entire event this weekend here on the CBG Live Network.
Leland Walker Leland Walker 5'11" | PG North Central | 2022 VA | 6’1” PG | Hargrave
One of the best available PGs on the east coast, Walker is a dynamic lead guard who is super shifty off the bounce and sets the tone on both ends of the floor for his team. He’s excellent in the pick-and-roll as he can turn the corner and get in the lane or drag it out and see the floor, he can get in the paint at will where he can score it over taller players and make plays for others and he brings toughness on both ends of the floor.
Madison Durr | 6’5” WG | Hargrave
Durr is a very intriguing prospect for Hargrave as he’s part of a four guard system they run and he has a lot of tools that translate to the next level. At 6’5” he’s able to handle the ball both in transition and in the half court and get downhill where he can finish, he can make shots from deep and in the midrange off the bounce and off the catch and he’s a switchable defender who can guard multiple positions.
Keon Thompson | 6’0” PG | Hargrave
Thompson is another talented guard for Hargrave who can fill it up in bunches and is able to play multiple guard positions. He’s quick and shifty off the bounce and knows how to create space to get shots off, he can get hot quickly and score it from all over the court when he does and he makes plays for others in transition and when he gets in the paint.
Elijah Hulsewe | 7’0” C | Hargrave
An intriguing big man who has improved a lot over the past few years, the Florida native is a massive prospect who can make an impact just with his size in the paint when he’s on the floor. He’s a throwback kind of big who plays with his back to the basket and as a screen and roller, he has good hands and good touch in the paint and when he catches inside he’s going to finish more often than not and he can rebound and challenge shots with his size too.
Kyrese Mullen Kyrese Mullen 6'6" | PF Massanutten | 2022 State VA | 6’6” PF | Massanutten
Mullen has been a force for Massanutten over the past few years, as he’s developed his body and his game to become a very versatile forward who is a walking mismatch. He has good strength in the paint and is quicker than he looks allowing him to finish through contact and over taller players, he’s developed into a knock down shooter from the perimeter and he brings a good amount of toughness to his team when he’s on the floor.
Adrian Myers Adrian Myers 6'5" | SF Massanutten | 2023 State VA | 6’7” F | Massanutten
Myers is a sleeper in the 2022 class who still has the option to reclassify to the 2023 class if he wants, and he’s a high upside prospect who has a lot of tools to get better with. The 6’7” forward has good size as he can play inside-out, he’s a big time athlete who plays way above the rim and can guard multiple positions and he has a budding perimeter skill set that will only improve as he continues to work on his game.
