The event features teams from Virginia, North Carolina, Tennesee, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Georgia and Massachusetts, and has a host of nationally ranked players as well as underrated guys who will get a chance to prove themselves.
We will preview the event in a number of ways, including some of the committed players, available 2022 prospects and some of the top 2023 prospects in the event.
Here’s a look at the 2022 committed players from Florida and Georgia.
You can watch the entire event this weekend here on the CBG Live Network.
Kam Craft Kam Craft 6'5" | SF TSF | 2022 State #54 Nation GA | 6’5” WF | TSF High School (Committed to Xavier)
A nationally ranked player hailing from the Midwest who had a huge summer for Meanstreets in the EYBL, Craft is one of the top shooters in the country and the way he shoots the ball should translate from day one. He’s excellent on the move as he sets his feet quickly and can let it fly, he is good at attacking closeouts and can score it from the midrange and his quick release and consistency from deep makes him a nightmare to match up with.
AJ Storr AJ Storr 6'6" | SF IMG Academy post grad | 2022 State #119 Nation FL | 6’6” WF | IMG Post Grad (Committed to St. John’s)
Storr is the two way impact guy for this IMG team as the athletic 6’6” forward is capable of filling it up in bunches while also guarding the other team’s best perimeter player. The St. John’s commit plays with a great motor and is a menace in transition where he can finish above the rim and through contact when he gets downhill, he can score it from multiple levels off the catch and off the bounce and he’s a good rebounder for his position as well.
Justin Taylor Justin Taylor 6'5" | SG IMG Academy | 2022 State #156 Nation FL | 6’5” WG | IMG Post Grad (Committed to Syracuse)
Taylor is one of the most skilled wings in the country at his size and the Orange commit has the ability to take over games with his shot making ability. While he’s known as a knock down shooter off the catch he has more to his game too as he can create and make shots in the midrange when he gets it going, he’s excellent coming off of screens and making shots on the move and he is an athletic finisher when he gets downhill.
Quadir Copeland Quadir Copeland 6'5" | SG IMG Academy | 2022 FL | 6’6” PG | IMG Post Grad (Committed to Syracuse)
One of the most fun guards to watch in all of high school, Copeland is a big guard who has a lot of flair in his playmaking ability and is a walking mismatch because of it. The 6’6” Cuse commit is a pure highlight in transition where he can make no look passes and lobs on the money, he sees over the defense and can deliver every pass in the books and he’s an athletic and crafty finisher around the basket as well.
Grant Newell | 6’8” PF | IMG Post Grad (Committed to Cal)
While IMG doesn’t have a ton of post presence, Newell brings a mismatch skill set to the table making them hard to match up with as they can often go five out and spread the floor with him. He has good ball skills as he can knock down shots from deep consistently off the catch, he can put it on the deck and use his size to finish when he gets downhill and he’s able to rebound and post guys in the paint as well.
Jamar Franklin Jamar Franklin 6'1" | CG Speights Academy | 2022 State #246 Nation FL | 6’2” PG | Speights Academy (Committed to South Alabama)
Franklin is one of the more underrated committed players in this event, as he will lead a talented Speigths Academy team to Hargrave who is coached and founded by former Hargrave standout and NBA vet Maurice Speights. The South Alabama commit is a smooth operator as a floor general as he’s highly skilled and crafty with the ball in his hands, he can score it from all three levels and make plays for others and he simply makes the game look easy with the ball in his hands.
