Continue ReadingThe updated rankings are set to be released next month. This will be our most extensive rankings to date, with tons of new players making their way into the rankings. Perhaps no class will see as many new additions as the class of 2025. Our current rankings consist of 37 players and because of a combination of talent and opportunity this class is shaping up to be one of the deepest ones in recent years. In this article, we take a look at some unranked freshmen set to make an appearance in the rankings.
Gaston Zumaya Gaston Zumaya 5'11" | CG Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2025 OR 5’11 CG Green Valley – Zumaya is a driver, with the ability to finish at the basket. He has had a strong freshman campaign for the Gators, averaging nearly 10ppg. The freshman guard contributes in other ways, including rebounding where he has had multiple games of at least 5 boards. Look for him to land solidly in the rankings based of his high school production.
Tommy Williams Tommy Williams 6'3" | CG Incline | 2025 State NV 6’0 PG Incline – Someone please get me some Tommy Williams Tommy Williams 6'3" | CG Incline | 2025 State NV film. The freshman has established himself as one of the state’s top snipers. He’s shooting the 3 ball at a nearly 40% clip and is one of the leaders in the state in total makes at 49. His ranking will be predicated on how soon I get a chance to see him in person.
Josh Chiu Josh Chiu 6'3" | PF Palo Verde | 2025 State NV 6’3 PF Palo Verde – Chiu is a player that I have gotten to see play quite a bit of JV ball. His size can be effective on the Varsity level right now, and his skill level shows promise. For JV players, it is a matter of finding out how soon they can translate their skills to Varsity levels.
Geremiah Rone Geremiah Rone 6'0" | PG Cimarron | 2025 State NV 6’0 CG Cimarron – Rone is another player that spends time on the freshman team, however, he plays for a really good freshman team. Behind his defensive instincts and transition scoring, the Spartans were able to capture the Centennial Thanksgiving tournament Championship.
Gerald Patterson Gerald Patterson 6'1" | PF Cimarron | 2025 State NV 6’1 PF Cimarron – Patterson was named MVP of that same Thanksgiving tournament. The lefty was terrific at using his body to create space and finish around the rim. He has good feet and agility and used them to make post moves, catch on the run and finish in transition.
Nick Jefferson Nick Jefferson 6'2" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2025 State #324 Nation NV 6’1 PG Bishop Gorman (featured image) – Jefferson was simply an omission in the first freshman rankings, and the PG has been on a mission to correct that slight. Jefferson has big-time wiggle and shoots the ball accurately from behind the college 3. Jefferson would probably be getting playing time at several of programs, however, he’s making the most of his JV experience for one of the top programs in the state.
Christopher Baudreau Christopher Baudreau 6'9" | PF Clovis West | 2025 CA-N 6’8 C Bishop Gorman – Baudreau’s size is obvious. As he continues to develop his athleticism and offensive ability, expect him to rise. Like Jefferson, he is learning the ropes at Gorman. With his size and production on the JV level, it’s going to be difficult to keep him out of a high spot in the rankings.
