Continue ReadingThe play-by-play classics have brought high level basketball events to Ohio this season. The Cleveland play by play event featured great games like Buchtel Vs Saint Ed’s, Gahanna Vs STVM and Brush Vs Richmond Heights. There are still a few play-by-play classic events left to be played. At Ohio Dominican University on Saturday, January 22nd features some interesting contests. Thomas Worthington takes on Northland in the first game with an interesting OCC Vs City League battle. Thomas Worthington is led by a strong Junior class with Joey Zalewski Joey Zalewski 6'3" | SF Thomas Worthington | 2023 State OH while Northland is led by senior PG Rob Dorsey. The second game features star freshman Darryn Peterson and CVCA going up against a deep Harvest Prep squad. A contrast of styles is the main intrigue for the third game, Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'7" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #81 Nation OH and Africentric want to push the pace while Cade Norris Cade Norris 6'3" | PG Hilliard Bradley | 2024 State OH and Hilliard Bradley will look to control tempo. Gahanna takes on Buchtel and Pickerington Central takes on Taft in the two most star-studded games of the day. All four teams were featured at Flyin To The Hoop and have plenty of Division I prospects. Finally, Heath takes on DeSales in a big Division II battle. Both teams have a lot of size but freshman Pj Noles is one of the more intriguing prospects from central Ohio in the 2025 class.
Play by Play Classics also have two events featuring Mikey Williams coming to Ohio. The first event is Taft taking on Buchtel before defending state champion Centerville battles with Vertical Academy. The Elks have already defeated multiple prep teams from out of state and will look to add another big win to their tally. This event is at Butler High School in Vandalia.
Finally, on February 2nd, Garfield Heights takes on Lutheran East before Brush takes on Mikey Williams and Vertical Academy. Brush has a lot of size and athleticism to match-up with Vertical Academy and defeated Indiana powerhouse Indy Cathedral early in the season. This event is taking place at Euclid High School.
