The Cashion County Line Tournament is one of the deeper small town tournaments to take place this winter. Many of the teams in the event harbor strong cases to make it to the Big House come March in OKC. The third place game featured Class 3A contender Oklahoma Christian School and the impressive athletic program of the Clinton Red Tornados of Class 4A. OCS jumped out to a 20-13 lead over Clinton. At the half, the lead had grown to 35-26. In the final 16 minutes, Clinton came roaring back and even briefly held the edge at a few points. But the Saints would regain the lead. Then come up with key stops in the closing moments, and hit free throws to build a big lead to close out the game.
Top Performers
Luke Gray Luke Gray 6'7" | PF Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’6 Sophomore Forward, Oklahoma Christian School
The top college prospect in the game spent much of the first half on the bench in foul trouble. In the second half, he avoided foul trouble and his rebounding ability was a huge reason why OCS was able to close out the game. His combination of size, athleticism and motor was simply too much for Clinton to keep off the glass. Gray also hit crucial free throws down the stretch to help OCS seal the victory.
Jon McKee, 6’3 Senior Guard, Oklahoma Christian School
A silky shooter. He was a consistent perimeter threat and especially stepped up in the second half after Clinton had made a run to take the lead. OCS was only down briefly each time, as it was McKee answering back to with big three point after three pointer. Even when he was successfully ran off the line, he took a dribble to side step the defender, relocate and nail another big three pointer.
Caden Powell, 6’3 Senor Wing, Clinton
Powell is well known for his football exploits and for his future on the baseball diamond at the University of Oklahoma. He takes many of those some athletic gifts and applies them to playing much bigger then his size as a slashing forward. Powell is big, strong and has good hang time when taking contact on drives and finishes around the rim. Then he gave his best when battling the bigger Gray. Basketball may not be in his future after March, but it’s likely Powell has some big moments in the upcoming weeks as the Red Tornados attempt to earn a trip to the Big House.
Jackson Crumley, 6’2 Senior Guard, Clinton
The other standout on the day for Clinton is a fellow senior and he’s a shooting specialist from beyond the arc. Crumbly’s shooting ability is what helped Clinton stay within range in the first half, and then propelled them in front in the second half. There was even a brief moment in the fourth quarter where Crumbley and McKee traded triples likes old west gunslingers.
