Corey Hudson Corey Hudson 6'1" | PG Pickerington North | 2022 State OH , 6’0 PG Pickerington North 2022: It seems like every game there’s a new guard for Pickerington North that steps up and leads the Panthers to victory. This not only speaks to the depth that Pickerington North has at the guard position, but also the unselfishness of the group to allow the hot hand to ride them to victory. On this night it was Corey Hudson Corey Hudson 6'1" | PG Pickerington North | 2022 State OH as the senior guard controlled the pace of the game and did a nice job finishing around the basket. I like Hudson’s ability to finish off of two feet in traffic and his ability to not turn the ball over.
Darian Leslie Darian Leslie 6'1" | SG Dayton Dunbar | 2022 State OH , 6’1 CG Dayton Dunbar 2022: Leslie is the senior leader for a Dunbar squad with a lot of Junior and Freshman talent and showed off his outside shooting ability on the big stage. Leslie played all 32 minutes of the game and knocked down four 3-pointers to help keep Dunbar in the game for its entirety. I bet Division III and JUCO programs take an interest in Leslie due to his shot-making and athleticism.
Ramar Pryor Ramar Pryor 6'2" | SG St. Vincent-St. Mary | 2022 State OH , 6’2 SG STVM 2022: Pryor had a great defensive showing which allowed him to thrive in transition for easy layups. Pryor might not have jump out the gym type athleticism, but his strength and body control allow him to finish through contact at a better rate than other guards his size. I also think Pryor has become more aware at how to impact the game offensively without the basketball. Improving his cutting and spot-up shooting ability.
Allen Lattimore, 5’11 PG Flyght Academy 2022: Flyght academy has a lot of 2021 high school graduates from around the Dayton area and these players got a chance to play on the big stage in a lot of these players hometown. The one who impressed me the most was Lattimore, a Stivers graduate who led his team in scoring with 16 points. Lattimore played well both on and off ball, as there were moments with Flyght academy moved the ball and Lattimore was in a position to score. It’ll be interesting to see where the Flyght Academy prospects land at the next level as many of them are starting to receive offers at the next level.
Anthony Johnson Anthony Johnson 6'3" | PG Midfield | 2022 State AL , 5’11 PG Kettering Fairmont 2022
Dasan Doucet Dasan Doucet 6'4" | SF Fairmont | 2022 State OH , 6’3 SG Kettering Fairmont 2022
I’ll throw this pair together for their breakdown because honestly, neither player thrives without the other. Johnson is a lightning quick guard who plays in control and finds his teammates for open looks. Doucet is the play finisher who showed nice touch around the basket and can stroke it from downtown. Together, they form one of the best guard duos in southwest Ohio and are the main reasons why Fairmont only has one loss on the season.
