Gabriel Dynes Gabriel Dynes 7'3" | C Simon Kenton | 2023 State KY , Simon Kenton – One of the oldest cliches in basketball is that you can’t teach height. After growing 9 inches in a year, Dynes stands at 7’2 and has quickly become likely the best shot blocker in the state as a Junior. His offensive game is a work in progress but there is some skill there and Gabriel is likely to intrigue coaches thanks to his rare combination of size and mobility as he is able to switch on defense with little issue.
Walter Campbell Walter Campbell 6'6" | PF Western Hills | 2023 State KY , Western Hills – Like Dynes, Walter is player who used SB 128 to move from the class of 2022 to 2023 and the extra year should help his recruiting as there is no reason he can’t start getting looks from D2 and NAIA schools in the next 6-9 months. Walter is strong and skilled and able to bully opposing defenders in addition to shooting over 40% from three this season.
Eric Davie Eric Davie 6'6" | PF Campbell County | 2023 KY , Campbell County – Davie is one of the most consistent players in Northern Kentucky but his name is rarely mentioned as being a top prospect in the area. He’s averaging a double double with 18 points and 12 rebounds per game. Campbell County has struggled this season but as their core continues to improve, look for Davie and the Camels to get back in the mix in the 10th region.
Luka Mateski Luka Mateski 6'3" | SF Beth Haven | 2023 State KY , Beth Haven – Louisville is so full of talent that it’s easy to miss on a player who is playing at a high level for a small school. Mateski is actually one of the leading scorers in the state this year and has shown that he can get buckets against anyone in the city. If he were playing at a bigger high school, Luka would be a more well known name at this point in his career.
