Averaging 16.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game the outstanding senior forward leads his team in every major category for the Bulldogs and is the main reason they came into the past week 13-0 this season. The senior had a couple of games last week one against a nondivisional and a divisional opponent. Against Madison, he didn’t put up the scoring number he’s done all season but was able to impact the game in other ways, 13 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks help secure the win for the Bulldogs. Games like this show his effort even when his shot isn’t falling he still gives his all on the boards and defensive end. In the next game versus Bancroft, his shot came back as he was able to drop in 22 points on 9 of 14 shots while also snagging 8 rebounds as the Bulldogs extends their streak to 15. Picking it up on the defensive end will always have Sjuts Stock Rising, and averaging 3.3 steals this season will definitely pop up on schools’ radar.
Isaiah McMorris Isaiah McMorris 6'0" | CG Bellevue West | 2024 NE | 6’0 G | Millard North/Results Academy
The sophomore guards have definitely been a spark plug for the Spartans off the bench. Averaging 7.5 points per game and 1.7 steals the sophomore shows his value nightly. Over the past week, he has done whatever been asked by him to uplift the team’s second unit. In-game versus Burke, he was able to add in 12 points for points off the bench but really was a pest on the defensive end piling up 5 steals. The Spartans would go on to win the game closing the game out with their second unit. The next game was against heated rivals Millard South, McMorris shows while he is such a great addition on a deep Spartans roster as he goes for 24 points, not missing a single shot. To add to the excellent scoring night he also tallied in 4 steals that help seal the victory. When asked bout his role coming off the bench the humble sophomore said: ” When I go in the game my team just needs me to play defense and however the game goes that’s how I attack it”. The sophomore is going to have plenty of time this season and years to come to put a stamp on the state but for this past week, McMorris definitely increase his stock with a great defensive and offensive performance over this past week.
Mason Strong Mason Strong 5'11" | PG Omaha North | 2022 State NE | 6’0 G | Omaha North/Lincoln Supreme 17U National 1
The scoring senior guard started off the season hot, but coming into this prior week the Vikings were .500 at 6-6. The senior guard had a good couple of games this past week to help his squad secure to wins in a couple of divisional opponents. In a game that the Vikings suppose to win versus the Huskies, Strong tallied in 13 points hitting one 3-pointer and snagging in 8 rebounds. The next game was more of a must-win to stay in the heat of the Class A rankings. The Vikings and Mason took the challenge as the senior guard goes off for 25 points, sinking three 3-pointers and grabbing 5 rebounds as the team gets their second blowout win. The Midland commit is averaging 16 points and 4.6 rebounds per game leading his squad in both categories. the Senior guard looks to be back in rhythm as he and the Vikings look to push in the last stretch of the season, which means more stock-rising games like these last two for Strong.
Owen Hancock Owen Hancock 6'1" | SF Wahoo | 2023 State NE | 6’1 F | Wahoo
The Wahoo junior is coming into his own this season, which has benefited the Warriors this season as they came into the 13-1. The junior is averaging 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds a game this season second behind a couple of seniors on the team. Owen adds a third scoring option for the Warriors, while also attacking the boards. Against a solid Waverly team, Hancock was able to record his second 20+ game of the season pouring in 22 points. Doing it very efficiently going 10/12 from the field and grabbing 8 rebounds, as the Warriors take down the Vikings. Yesterday’s game wasn’t the same results for the junior and the Warriors as they were taken down by a very good Wayne team. As two very good teams collide, wasn’t a very good game for Hancock as he scores 9 points hit a couple of 3s and snagged 4 rebounds. Hancock, still a young player shows a glimpse of his scoring ability and hustle to the boards, just next thing for him to work on is consistency. Tournament coming this weekend, the junior will look to have a bounce-back game.
Lane Kelley Lane Kelley 6'3" | SG Kenesaw Public S | 2023 NE | 6’3 F | Kenesaw
The sharpshooting junior has been lighting it up all season from behind the arc. Leading the team in 3 point field percentage, Lane and Kenesaw have been off to a great start. Following a loss earlier this season, the Devils racked off an 8 game winning streak coming into the past week. Taking on Franklin, Kenesaw and Lane blow out the competition as the deadeye junior went 6/9 from behind the arc scoring 18 points while dishing out 3 assists. Just a junior, Kelley is shooting 41% from deep this season. Not scared to let it rain he showed that the next game going 2/12 from the arc and scoring 11 points as Kenesaw fell to Pleasanton. Playing against a good defending backcourt was hard for the junior to connect. Even though he didn’t hit many of his shoots I like to see resiliency from a proven shooter he is. One bad game is not hurting a player stock but a good shooting and hitting 5+ 3s in a game is definitely a stock riser.
Brendyn Ollendick | 6’2 G | Elkhorn Valley
Brendyn and the Falcons were on 6 game winning streak coming into the prior week. The crafty junior is leading his team with 12.7 points and 4.6 assists per game. Against a couple of winnable opponents this week the junior guard goes for 20+ one game and in other game gets a double-double. In the first game of the week against the Bulldogs, the junior drops in 22 points hitting 2 of his 3 threes, and grabbing 7 rebounds the Falcons rolled over the Bulldogs. The next game was more of the same results as Brendyn goes for his 6th double-double of the season scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. The Falcons pulled out the win against the Spartans extending their winning streak to 8 games behind the big gameplay of Ollendick. The junior gets double-doubles with either rebounds or assists which makes him a versatile player for the Falcons. A versatile player will always have stock rising games look for more production out of him rest of this season.
